Alright, that makes sense. Not that I was complaining, was just confused.

or maybe Eve is hiding something from us under its purple surface...

Actually, because of Eve's temperature and pressure, and being the analogue of Venus, those could be peaks covered not with snow, but metal. Yup, on Venus it literally snows metal on it's peaks. Although, since we're talking about Eve here, it could be crystalized rocket fuel instead.
