XKCD has really funny tool tips

I was reading some XKCD, and noticed this:

I went to the next one, and surely enough, it had more:

They are known as "alt-text."

There's a Chrome extension called, funnily enough, XKCD Alt Text, which will save you the effort of having to mouse over by showing the alt text below the comic.

Nice to know I'm not the only one. When you read a lot of webcomics, stuff like this is useful.

For when you just don't have time to wait that extra half second.

I didn't say it was saving you much effort.

But it's actually handy for the really super long tooltips.

I tried to read all the XKCD comics over one week, I think I succeeded, and then I found out about the tooltips/mouseover/alt-text and had to do it all over again. So worth it.
