Random, frequent crashes with modded 1.1

Recommended Posts

I use the following mods, which have been updated for 1.1

DistantObject

KIS/KAS

Kerbal Engineer

EVE - clouds only, no citylights

 MechJeb

Kerbal Alarm clock

Upon loading the game, I can usually get to the VAB or SAB and click "load craft", but once that happens the game crashes. I have a crash output log an another different error log for anyone's fancy:

My system specs:

Win 10 64bit

2x HD6950's crossfired

i54690k oc to 4.5

480gb SSD

8gb memory @ 1666mhz

Edit: Tried playing without EVE and its clouds, I was able to edit a craft and launch it, but upon revert to SAB, the game still crashed, like it was running out of memory. Here is the accompanied error log:

Yes, there have been a number of changes to the steam launch process over the last few days.  At one point it was defaulting to 64bit and at another point I think there was a dialog allowing you to choose.  I'm not actually sure what it currently does.

On a different matter, Kerbal Alarm Clock appears to be failing to load.  Does it appear in game?  Looks like it needs another update...

No KAC was not bringing up for me, though I have no use for it atm.

Your log shows you are running the 32bit version of the game.  Not sure how you're launching it but try running KSP_x64.exe directly from explorer instead.

I believe this was the case, I ran the 64.exe and the game ran fine for an hour and a half, but then it mysteriously crashed yet again; "ksp.exe has stopped working, windows is looking for a solution". This time there was no crash file provided

Edit: Even when running 64bit, the game still crashes, usually in the SAB, and usually after about an hour of gameplay.

Edit2: The frequency of the crashes had diminished if not vanished after 1.1.2, however I recently loaded up the game as normal and the first thing i did was make my station my active vessel from the control and it mysteriously split in two http://plays.tv/video/5729433da16eee6fdc/it-randomly-split-in-half

was able to load a quick save shortly before it happened and the kraken has yet to show its self..

I'm having a very similar problem. Except in my case if I just install EVE alone and launch x64, the game crashes on launch. I'm selecting the x64 bit mode launching from steam. I can launch the game fine unmodded. I've deleted and reinstalled twice now. I can run the 32bit version with EVE, although I get weird floating pink rectangles in the sky over KSC. I may have also had SVE installed when I was seeing those, haven't made sure it was happening in 32bit only with EVE.

Specs Windows 8.1

Asus MB/AMD FX-8350 16Gb

nvidia GTX970 latest drivers

I figured out the issue! It was because I still had force-d3d11 in steam launch preferences! DOH!

Kerbal Alarm Clock is not 1.1 compatible yet, the user patched version is bugged and causes Null Reference Exceptions which is most likely the cause of your crashes.

I'm getting the same crashes, without KAC.

How do you fix this?? How do you remove (or whatever) that force-d3d11 thing? And what is that, anyways?

Thanks!

Yeah if you don't know where it is, it isn't there, cause you have to manually add that line to program launch options.

Hey guys I've been getting CTD's recently again and its on 64x build. game version is 1.1.2

Here is the KSP log: https://www.dropbox.com/s/31c2xsgmxv9w107/KSP.log?dl=0

Again my mods are (took out EVE):

DistantObject

KIS/KAS

Kerbal Engineer

MechJeb

Kerbal Alarm clock

Atmospheric trajectories

If some one could take a peek and let me know what could be up with it I'd be very grateful, i seem to be able to play it long enough for me to dock with my station with an ssto, but shortly there after it CTD'd on me, not even during a scene change.

You have a lot of NREs (Null Reference Exception) on KAS. Try uninstalling (including deleting folder) and reinstalling KAS. Check for version compatible with 1.1.2.
