[WIP] [1.2.1] [2.0.4] Stock Size Real Solar System

As many of you know, Deimos and Phobos shrink in this mod alot.

Reading in the docs if Sigma told, that we might have an error in the settings.cfg

@Kopernicus:BEFORE[SigDim2]:NEEDS[SigDim]
{
    @Body:HAS[#name[Phobos]]
    {
        @PlanetDimensions[2] = 0           //makes no sense, there is now atmosphere on that body
        @PlanetDimensions[0] = 1           //This lets dimenions untouched.
    }
}

But unfortunately this does not help with the issue of vanishing ships around those moons. For now one should not let ships there and go to Space Center. I believe that this is due to a tiny SOI - maybe inflating it artificially might help. Sigma Dimension provides this:  CustomSoISize .

You used to not even be able to land on them, after many tries changing it to 1 surprisingly helped.

Glad you like them! Mars doesnt really have a blue outline irl its more of a blueish haze.. Then again if you land on our mars it has the same sunset as the one irl, nice and blue!

:confused:

But how do you get the blue haze anyway? I used to have it but now I don't. I used to be able to see the haze in the tracking station and when orbiting mars but now I can't. :(

I'm pretty sure you never had it in the tracking station as scatterer does not work in the tracking station.  It should still be there in orbit though..  It's very very subtle

Yeah, i've used hyperedit to have a look but not in orbit. I used to see the haze perfectly. And I could see it in the tracking station. Maybe it was apart of the SVE in the download? I can see the haze with the optional texture on by the way.

SVE doesn't add anything in terms of haze by itself only scatterer.  So I don't know what you were seeing in the tracking station

Hmm.. I might have to go take another look. Booting up KSP now.

Strange. I can see the haze in the tracking station. ill get a pic in a sec. There's also a pic while in orbit for comparison.

->Mars Porn!!<-

Thats not really a haze.  That's the light diffraction around the planet and it's just a stock feature.  You would definitely know if there was a true haze on mars or any planet with an atmosphere

Oh. Well is there anyway to get it working while in orbit? because it only shows in the tracking station.

Guess what guys? EarthPorn!! Issue 4! Wait where's the imgur album button!?! Grr...

Anyway, we won't let that get in the way of observing EarthPorn.

-->EarthPorn!<--

Hey, pardon me for asking, but do you use F.A.R at all?
I ask because I saw your reusable launcher going in with heat fx, and they start very very late [or sometimes not at all] in the atmosphere for me ;~;

Still, absolutely loving the mod, and that album is gorgeous!

Nah, I don't use FAR. I'm not that experienced yet. :) and thanks for having a look at the album!

Some wreckless driving around what I guess is Mt, Olympus. 9 min long... video quality isn't so good... couple of explosions... couple of pretty big jumps.

That's a pretty cool rover you got there. Might have to send an all-terrain rover myself. Even more interplanetary ideas!

Thanks Duski its Version 2.0 Industries rover cab, crew and cargo rack with Buffalo chassis and wheels. alot of wheel tweaking (traction control, shock settings etc)I could send you this rover, but it uses alot of mods, solar panels from B9 Aerospace, Infernal Robotics parts ( and their rework packs) Near Future electrical generator, KIS and KAS parts and BD Armory... yeah :)

Sweet! Might have to check them out.

Ok how in the world do you get distant object colors to appear?

You mean how to see the planets as distant objects? Just download DOE (Distant Object Enhancement)

Yeah but that just makes them all white dots without color -- there should be a config that gives them colors somewhere

That's just how they are.. They're like this in real life and this mod is about being as accurate as possible to our solar system on 1/10 of the scale.

Hey Berlin, are you able to do something like this with the Mars atmosphere like what pingopete has done? Or would this be basically the same as the setting and proland for Duna?

Here http://imgur.com/a/2lqPd

I dont like that at all. Unrealistic and way too bright.

I reckon it looks pretty cool, even though it's unrealistic. If you'd turn down the brightness and it'd look nice. I just like to see Mars' atmosphere there very thin along the circumference as I find seeing no atmosphere from a distance (even though it really is there) feels misleading.

Hey sDaZe, I was playing around with the KSC Switcher mod, and decided to try fr_kourou. When I tried to launch a space plane I ad this happen, so I went into your launchsites.cfg file and changed the radius under PQSMod_MapDecalTangent for fr_kourou to 4900 (from 4500)

This fixed the problem of planes doing a beautiful backflip upon launch, but it does mess up the shoreline a little. If there's a better solution like changing the repositionRadiusOffset or something, I don't know, I didn't dick around with it.
