refueling with stock parts?

As the title says, is it possible to refuel eg. by mining on distant planets without the use of mods like Kethana. I'm in career mode but not jet fully researched.

Yes, you can mine resources on planets and moons. Use the scanners to find the area with the biggest ore concentration. Mine the ore using the drills in-game. Then, you can change it to any fuel using the converters. Keep in mind that these need lots of power and radiators to operate. Of course, this assumes you have unlocked all of the parts in the tech tree. Happy mining!
