ingame en/disabling of mods on a per savegame base

I was wondering if it is possible to have the ability to enable or disable your installed mods ingame for each new game you start.
I am not talking about a way to install or uninstall mods ingame, just to be able to choose which mods you would like to be activated when you start a new game, and when you resume that same savegame later those same mods would be activated/de-activated.

This way it is possible to have multiple savegames each with their own set of mods ( or lack thereoff ) without having to move mod folders in or out the gamedata folder before running the game or without having to restart. It would make it possible to play different games with mods that would otherwise break each other. And you could also install a new mod in a way it doesn't change a game you were already playing... Maybe even have different savegames all using a different solar systems, who knows?

Maybe something similar was asked before but i could not find it. I don't know if it is possible to do something like this without having to do large portions of the coding, i just think it could be a very handy feature.
