NOTICE: THIS MOD REQUIRES KOPERNICUS, MODULAR FLIGHT INTEGRATOR AND MODULE MANAGER. Delete previous versions of the mod when installing a new version.

Kerbulus, home of the evil Kerbulans, is a planet very very similar to Kerbin. The major difference between Kerbulus and Kerbin is that the land masses are all backwards, as if put through a mirror, mirror. It is orbited by two moons, Nimnus and Num. Nimnus is an evil red version of Minmus, while Mun is an ugly green version of the Mun. Kerbulus orbits the sun exactly opposite Kerbin.

Num is also unique in that its craters are inverted. It looks really weird, I know.

This mod was originally custom-created just for @Kuzzter, who was hinting at the existence of a sort of Counter-Kerbin ever since the ending of his first story in the Kerbfleet Comics series, Duna, Ore Bust. Throughout Eve: Order Zero and A Jool Oddysey, he has been building up Kerbulus more and more, especially through the demented stories of Kenlie Kerman, who seems to be tied to his mirror counterpart Kenlie Kermulan. Finally, Kerbulus has been revealed in all its glory, and I can release the mod. MUAHAHAHAHA!

By default, the mod puts the KSC on Kerbin and has Kerbulus as an alien planet. However, it is possible to play as Kerbulus by going into the settings.cfg file and changing HomeWorld = Kerbin to HomeWorld = Kerbulus. Note that you can play on a single save file by swapping between Kerbulus and Kerbin. The game will keep the satellites, stations, landers, and rovers in the correct place.

Getting from Kerbin to Kerbulus (or vice versa) is a little complicated, because you can't do a hohmann transfer. You can either enter an orbit with either 1.5 or 0.5 times the orbital period of Kerbin, or you can enter a slightly higher or lower orbit, wait for the phase angles to match up, and then do a hohmann transfer back down or up.

NB: Counter Kerbin's heightmap should be reversed, as in the mountains are at the bottom of the ocean.

Cool, though!!!

Three things:

  1. I'm almost certain you used "NB" wrong. It should be used when stating an important fact, not an opinion. It means "Nota Bene" or "Note Well."
  2. Not reversing the heightmap. Kerbin's heightmap is boring beneath the oceans. My Counter-Earth mod, "Anticthon" does reverse the heightmap, though.
  3. Kerbulus has already appeared in the Kerbfleet comics. Only minor changes can be made now to it.

That makes sense.

I have made an update to the mod. You can get it from SpaceDock. You can now toggle which planet is your homeworld in a simple config file in KerbfleetPlanets/settings.cfg. Additionally, all planets have changed names and descriptions when Kerbulus is set to homeworld. You can even play in the same save game and swap back and forth between the two planets. This would no doubt be useful for @Kuzzter so he doesn't have to switch back and forth through save files when recording the story for Kerbulus.
