Let's try to make an official KSP Modders holiday, to appreciate all the work they do for this game, & for us Kerbal fans! Comment your ideas/suggestions!

I have some better ideas if you want to appreciate your modders:

1. Contribute meaningful bug reports.

2. Stop asking for updates during pre-release or the day of a release.

3. Stop asking for updates a week after release.

4. Stop asking for updates, it's annoying.

5. Have some respect in general for people who create free content for you.

Fixed that for you.

EDIT: Nevermind, you made that #3.  It was just kind of weird to mention it twice.

Well, today is Friday the 13th in the calendar I use.  How about we make every Friday the 13th Modders' Day?  They deserve more than 1 day per year, and I'm sure modders feel cursed a lot of the time so I think the superstition is fitting :)

  • All Great ideas, and yes @regex those are very good examples of common curtesy for the modders! :)
  • Friday the 13th is a creative idea for such a date and we should certainly put a pin in it @Geschosskopf:sticktongue:
  • @cubinator Your certainly right, everyday in my mind is modder appreciation day, but if such day were to be put on a calendar it would be a holiday I would look forward to celebrating! :D

This. Plus I would add:

6. Help reduce the modder's support load by answering newbie questions about the mod.

7. Spread the word. If you like a mod, recommend it to others.

Yup, I'd say some of the best ways to help us out (and make every day modder appreciation day) would be to help out with support requests, help out with documentation / videos, and toss us pull requests for easy stuff like config fixes and such.

And feel free to tell us that you do.  We're much more likely to put time into it if we know people are using/liking it.

Every day is Modder Appreciation Day for me.  So many games I love, the main reason why I do love them so is because modders have made them a whole new (or much deeper) experience than originally intended by the developers.  I don't mind the wait when the returns are so awesome.
