Clamp-O-tron Jr. transfers crew?

Recommended Posts

I just did a test and found out that Jr. Ports can now transfer crew. I thought that the Jr. was the only docking port that couldn't transfer crew. Did anything change in these past few updates that I missed?

Docket vessels can transfer any resource from one to another. Given how small Kerbals are, it's plausible with the juniour port, but gives rise to amusement with the Kerbal Attachment System mod, which allows you to run a fuel pipe on EVA from one ship to another if close by.    Once linked, the game treats the vessels as docked, allowing transfer of any resource including crew.

Scott Manley's interstellar quest series often used KIS to resupply vessels, and he had a life support mod installed, so that included replenishing food, water, fuel(s), and draining waste, wastewater, CO2 etc.

Left me wondering if the order in which stuff was sent across the pipe mattered.   Eg. One seriously hopes that food is sent before waste.    Will monoprop act as a disinfectant/bleach?  Or will monoprop residue leave a funny taste in the food?      If snacks are sent first, will crumbs from the pretzels etc prove hypergolic with monopropellant?   What about antimatter, is that hypergolic with snacks?

The "product description" for the Jr. specifically says that it can't transfer crew in the stock game, yes.

But it seems that is a very obsolete product description -- true in versions .25 and .90 only?
