Friction seems to be a problem

I haven't played for a long time, but on this playthrough I have noticed that friction seems strangely absent. Like anything on any planet thats even slightly tilted, when just slowly glide down. I can't be the only one who has noticed this, but has the devs said anything about?

I've even seen the opposite, where my lander slowly slides UP a hill. My guess is that the rotation of the body is causing it (likened to centrifugal force), but that's just a hunch. Someone would have to dig into the code to see what's happening.

Yup.  It's on the fix list.  Unfortunately it'll be a while, since the problem comes from Unity itself, and it requires an update to a newer Unity version to fix, which is a big undertaking and won't be happening in the 1.1.3 timescale.  This week's dev notes have a discussion about it:

As a player, the issues with wheels and legs are aggravating, sure, but there's not a lot Squad can do about it-- or, rather, what they can do about it, they're already doing.  It'll just take time.

Sliding up the ladder is always a good one, too.
