help needed w/ replacing an asset bundle texture (turn Debris icon to dot to show 'roids w/o orbit lines)

pre KSP v1.0 I replaced the icon for Debris with a green dot. Then I could Find/Replace all the asteroid types in my SFS to make them Debris and have all their positions show up as dots without orbital lines clogging the view. It looked really nice.

Problem now however is with KSP v1.1.3 they've changed the orbital icon map to a DDS texture. Before, I edited DDS textures with Unity Assets Explorer - however Unity 5 support is still in the works and currently it exports a messed-up DDS conversion of the .tex file in the asset bundle. So I exported the texture as PNG using Unity Assets Viewer and then used Paint.NET to flip it and convert it to the proper DDS format (DXT5 w/mipmap). However despite the fact that it saves as the same size as what's listed in the UAE window for file size, UAE refuses to import the DDS texture saying its the wrong file size.

Soooo... now I don't know what else to do. UAV only lets me import .tiff and .png files to replace asset bundle textures (replaced a Debris icon successfully using UAV but it was the icon that shows up in the Info window, not for the orbital icon). I haven't been able to search up any alternatives yet. Anyone have any ideas?

Bit of a long shot, but in the off chance you converted it wrong, you could always try DDS4KSP. No ideas otherwise.

Sorry I've been putting off trying this out for a while now and at this point I don't really know when I'm going to get around to doing it so just wanted to say thanks for the suggestion

@Gaiiden,I don't know if this is still relevant, but you can try with TextureReplacer,it'll allow you to replace almost every texture.
If you have "the texture"(it can be .dds,.jpg or .png),put it in KSP_win\GameData\TextureReplacer\Default,and rename it to same name that is in asset file, just like you would replace skybox or the teran for planets.
