In CKAN, in the Settings Menu, there's an entry 'Compatible KSP versions'.  That brings up a dialog of versions for CKAN to consider 'compatible' with your installed KSP version.  I manually added the version '1.4.9' to the list and checked the box for it in the list.  After that EVE showed as installable, which let me install SVE.

Thanks!

Hello! Could you help me solve one problem? I used different combinations of mods. SVE + Kopernicus, SVT + Kopernicus, but I do not see the ring in Jool. More precisely, I see them but the texture is barely noticeable.
My version of KSP is 1.7.0.

Is this some kind of incompatibility, or just need to wait for the update of these mods? Thanks.

That’s by design. I went for a more subtle ring. Think Uranus.

For those (of us) who both like the old, gaudy-as-heck ring style and aren't Kopernicus wizards, is there a relatively simple way to re-jigger things to bring back the old look? Right now the rings are so subtle as to be almost completely invisible on my display/resolution settings.

Absolutely! Just download the last set of textures before the latest and copy/paste the old ring texture and overwrite the new one

it doesn’t matter which resolution you choose for the textures as the ring texture is the same size in the high, medium, and low versions.

Hey there, I went and installed this, though I seem to be having an issue where Kerbin and Laythe seem to be working just fine, but Eve, Duna, and Jool seem to not be looking the way they should be. I've checked and double checked how and what I installed, and even removed all my other mods, yet the problem persists. I'm at a complete loss as to what to do. I greatly appreciate anything you might be able to point out to me to help resolve this issue!

EDIT: So after reinstalling it four times or so, I managed to get it working finally. Don't know if I was doing something wrong while manually installing or if EVE screwed something up, but it all seems good now. At least I can go enjoy this wonderful mod you've got here now!

I have this exact issue. How did you fix it?

LOL I just did what you did, reinstalled it and it works.

Me again..

 I installed this fine now and it looks amazing! Thank you to all who worked on this, its a fantastic mod! I have an issue on Eve. The clouds form a kind of ugly hexagon above me when descending through the clouds and also I get some kind of input lag in the coulds of Eve. Not FPS drop and the timer is solid green its a kind of mouse type lag.. Any ideas?

 Also how do I tone down the volumeric clouds on Eve?

I am also having this same issue. Unfortunately reinstalling SVE and every dependency 5 times did not fix it. I even tried without Scatterer and Kopernicus and got a different result, clouds on the night and dawn/dusk side of Kerbin turned black and every planet except Kerbin and Laythe was stock and had no enhancements at all.

Welcome to the forum :)

The short answer: You're missing the "StockVisualEnhancements/Textures/DunaClouds.dds" file/texture. I checked the all three texture resolution packs but it's available in all of them, no idea what went wrong there. Anyway, as soon as you put the texture back there, it should work just fine :)

Long answer:

EVEs cloudsmanager crashes while loading the config files. Kerbin and Laythe are loaded but it fails on the Duna config and stops there, so Kerbin and Laythe get clouds but Duna, Eve and Jool are borked. The quoted report shows the same issue.

The exception messages shows:

Quote

UnityEngine.UnityException: Unable to parse "_MainTex" in "settings"!

The config node looks fine though:

settings
{
    _DetailScale = 15
    _DistFadeVert = 3.99999E-05
    _DetailDist = 0.2E-07
    _UVNoiseAnimation = 0.2,0.2
    _UVNoiseStrength = 0.0001600001
    _Color = 225,220,220,150
    _UVNoiseScale = 0.0039999998
    _MainTex
    {
        value = StockVisualEnhancements/Textures/DunaClouds
    }
    _DetailTex
    {
        value = StockVisualEnhancements/Textures/DetailLow
    }
    _UVNoiseTex
    {
        value = StockVisualEnhancements/Textures/uvnoise1
    }
}

But if you actually take a look at part of the log, where all the textures are loaded:

Quote

Load(Texture): StockVisualEnhancements/Textures/DetailLow

Load(Texture): StockVisualEnhancements/Textures/duststorms

Load(Texture): StockVisualEnhancements/Textures/eve1

You'll notice that the required "StockVisualEnhancements/Textures/DunaClouds" doesn't appear there so it's somehow missing.

I think its working now? https://imgur.com/a/Yco1flm

Jool still looks a bit whitewashed but that may just be the new jool textures he mentioned, Also duna still has no clouds?

But i think i found the problem of where the duna textures went to. The link on the main page for the textures sends me to 1.0.7 after redownloading that one it still was missing the duna textures, however after downloading the 1.0.8 version it has the duna textures in the files and my planets now look like they loaded. It looks like the .8 got cut off of the link on the first page.

Which specific version of Scatterer should we be using?  I'm getting black skys in 1.3.1, 1.6.1 and 1.7.0.

If the aforementioned compatibility problems with Scatterer have been cleared up and this isn't an easy fix/I'm doing something wrong, I will post the required logs + screens.

Hello, this mod is great and I am loving it so far. But one thing, Is there any way I could make the rings around Jool more visible? They are very faint and hard to see even in flight. Thanks in advance.unknown.png

Forgive me if I missed this in a previous post, but is SVE/EVE/Scatterer no longer compatible with the latest version of KSP? I was using them with 1.7 without any issue, but since upgrading to 1.72 they've all stopped working correctly. I followed the manual install process outlined on the SVE page closely, and tried uninstalling the game/mods and then reinstalling them with no change. I'm probably doing something wrong, I just don't know what.

All of those mods work just fine, but I can’t tell you why yours broke without logs and a screenshot of your GameData folder.

Here's a screenshot of my GameData folder: https://ibb.co/hLDqLCN

Edit: Just did a complete game uninstall and reinstall of the mods as directed on the SVE page, same exact issue.

Alright, I got the rings working, but I was wondering, is there any way of getting the rings to cast a shadow on the front of Jool, while Jool casts a shadow on the rings behind it? Thanks.2019-06-25.png
