[KSP 1.6.1] Stock Visual Enhancements [v1.4.1] [20 March 2019]

Two Things:

Atmospheric Scatter Glitch on Tekto. Dunno if it reappears or just was a one-time Thing; I was more concerned about the second one:

I know from the Planetshine Thread that it is not compatible with 1.8.x and will cause this pink Squares. I don't have Planetshine installed but found an OPM Planetshine.cfg in the Outer Planets Mod Folder; removing it did not make Things better. Do you know of anything Planetshine related in the SVE/SVT Mods or any other Reason that might cause this pink Squares. I'd guessthat this is caused by Visual rather than other Mods but SVE+SVT with the according Dependencies (Scatterer+EVE) are the only ones that I have installed.

EDIT: Almost forgot: They only appear in the first 30 or so Seconds after Launch and seem to be more frequent in Atmospheres, especially on Kerbin.

@derbleifuss SVT is not updated to 1.8, and it won’t be. At least not any time soon. The updates Squad is making to the stock textures is superior to SVT.

Expected that. Was more interested if any others have this Issue too or it only happens to mee so it definitely has nothing to do with 1.8.x.

I'd miss the collidable Scatter Objects tho, so I stick with SVT as I can live with this two occasional Glitches. The Stuff that I posted about SVE in the other Thread bugs me way more.

I can easily provide that cfg.

and SVE is what I meant. SVE is not up to date and may break with the latest scatterer a little. That bug, though, looks like you cheated into orbit, which can cause artifact like the one you see in your screenshot.

the issue in your video isn’t caused by SVE, as far as I can tell. I have no clue what that could be caused by.

I highly suggest you strip your game of all mods except SVE and it’s dependencies and try to replicate the issue.

Did cheat by using the KRASH Mod. Just wanted to compare to Pood's OPM VO and didn't want to spend hours burning the Ion Engine. This pink Squares also appear after having cheated myself to Places by KRASH but disappear quicker compared to being honest at Kerbin. (Well, KRASH isn't really cheating but more intended to test Crafts. You can't collect Science when using it etc.)

And I would highly appreciate that .cfg. Can it also be adapted to work on Mod Bodies?

I would post that issue to the Krash thread.

And yes, the cfg would apply to all bodies with scatters, as long as the use the stock names for scatters. If a mod supplies custom scatter, then they will be solid. Basically, anything not named “grass” will be solid.

Guess it is solved; Tekto looks weird because KRASH teleported me there. If it looks good when I go there for real, there is nothing to post anymore.

And I guess you are talking about the EnableColliders.cfg. Took a Look at it and on some Planet/Moon .cfgs. Can't really see how to get it going on Modded Bodies. But so far I only have Experience with Part .cfg Files and how to change Things on them.

Found a PlanetShine Version for 1.8.1:

Didn't help. Whatever these pink Things are...

Remove all of your mods besides SVE and it’s dependencies. Add mods back a few at a time to find the culprit. This isn’t an SVE issue, I can tell you that much

Is what I'm doing since a couple of Hours. Tried the Visual Mods and recently installed ones first but it's something else. So far I tested it for about 15 Mods but have over 50 to go. Every Attempt takes about 20 Minutes so it will keep me busy the next Days.

EDIT: Found it in one of the first Mods I tried. It's Texture Replacer.

Hey guys, I'm still playing on a 1.3.1 game because it's a long and complex career save with a lot of mods.  I'm trying to use SVE, but I'm getting the black sky/no water issue.  Weirdly this worked when I played it last year, but since then something seems to have broken.  I've tried removing/reinstalling SVE but the problem persists.

I'm installing everything through CKAN.

GameData folder: https://drive.google.com/open?id=1ggAp5h-3Ed-zjjSmWnHbKOzfskionTFI

I really appreciate any guidance you can give.  I have confirmed that I'm running Scatterer .0.324, which according to the patch notes should be the correct version for this game.

Hoping that someone can give me an idea as to what I can do to get this working on my old save...

Black sky and no water usually indicates a wrong config for scatterer. The latest version of SVE uses an updated config to match the new syntax of scatterer 0.5xxx versions (the .version file claims to be compatible with KSP 1.3.0 and above anyway but I wouldn't trust it in this case). Have you tried an older version of SVE already, like v. 1.3.0.4?

For some reason the clouds and city lights, basically anything in SVE/ EVE is not working.  I checked to see if all the mods were up to date , which they were, and reinstalled SVE with the dependencies but it still wouldn't budge.  Any help would be greatly apreciated.

@Outsoldier Well, you run a RSS install and SVE will only apply effects to Kerbin, Eve, Duna, Laythe, and Jool... since these planets are usually not present in a RSS install, you see no difference.

Try RSSVE or RSSVE Lite instead.

RSSVE (seem to have no offical download link anymore but it's available on archive.org): https://archive.org/details/RSSVE-1.2.2-RC3

RSVE-Lite: https://spacedock.info/mod/1136/RSSVE-Lite

On a sidenote: your GameData directory contains an additional GameData folder, which usually indicates a wrong installed mod you may want to take a look at that as well ;)

@4x4cheesecake I can see the clouds but the sky is black.  Also when I press ALT+0  I see rssve there. is that fine? Wait I think i figured it out

So did you figure it out?

Black Sky is usually related to scatterer and a wrong config. Did you install RSSVE or RSSVE-Lite? The latter one doesn't contain a config for scatterer, just the configs and textures for EVE, so scatterer probably loads the default config which doesn't work in RSS.

I would suggest to try RSSVE then, for your convenience, I've uploaded it to my dropbox, which provides an easier and faster download then archive.org ;)
