Solar System Challenge

Recommended Posts

Sometimes, KSP can get boring.

It's not very common, but it can happen.

So, to conquer this boredom, I created a challenge.

A challenge to take over the Solar System. Here's what you have to do:

Kerbol: A space station, nice and simple.

Moho: An orbital space station and a surface base consisting of a mine, fuel storage, and storage for at least 4 kerbals.

Eve: An orbital space station, a surface base consisting of a mine, fuel storage, and storage for at least 4 kerbals, and a boat that works.

Gilly: An orbital space station and a surface base consisting of a mine, fuel storage, a rover, and storage for at least 2 kerbals.

Kerbin: Two orbital space stations and an Antarctic base consisting of fuel storage, and storage for at least 6 kerbals.

Mun: An orbital space station and a surface base consisting of a mine, fuel storage, a rover, and storage for at least 3 kerbals.

Minmus: An orbital space station and a surface base consisting of a mine, refuel station, a rover, storage for at least 3 kerbals, and a hovercraft.

Duna: An orbital space station and a surface base consisting of a mine, fuel storage, a rover, and storage for at least 4 kerbals.

Ike:An orbital space station and a surface base consisting of a mine, fuel storage, a rover, and storage for at least 2 kerbals.

Dres: An orbital space station and a surface base consisting of a mine, fuel storage, a rover, and storage for at least 2 kerbals.

Jool: 2 Orbital space stations.

Vall, Bop, Pol, Tylo: An orbital space station and a surface base consisting of a mine, fuel storage, a rover, and storage for at least 1 kerbal EACH.

Laythe: An orbital space station, a surface base consisting of a mine, fuel storage, and storage for at least 2 kerbals, and a boat that works.

Eeloo: An orbital space station and a surface base consisting of a mine, refuel station, a rover, storage for at least 3 kerbals, and a hovercraft.

Other stuff:

When a kerbal dies, you must make an underwater burial on either Eve or Laythe.

No reverting back to flight/building.

Each space station must be sustainable forever. (eg, solar panels)

Each space station must hold at least 2 kerbals.

Each base must have a flag and a refuel station.

So for this challenge you want us to build 19 space stations, 15 ground stations, 11 rovers, 2 boats and 2 hovercraft, and to do this without ever reverting. Was that all? If this was a realistic challenge, you would at least demand we launch it all in 1 ship.

It is generally appreciated (and encouraged in the Challenge Submission Guide) to try your own challenge first, and to include the results as a benchmark for other players.

A nice hard lengthy challenge but its nothing more than a set of tedious tasks. @Magzimum already covered the Challenge submission guide part so I'll throw in my other thoughts. Perhaps add in a point system and a leader board. People here won't do a challenge unless there's a chance of there name being on a board somewhere :D
