Unhelpful Life Hacks

  • There are lots of tricks out there on how to most effectively or quickly cut an apple into small pieces, but what if you could bypass all that messy cutting (which also means you have to clean the knife and the worktop!)? Imagine if you could accomplish the same task without any tools or any mess! Well, there's a better way, if you know how! An apple's skin is actually quite weak and cutting through it with a knife is overkill. All you need to do is hold the apple in your hand (from the side) and bite a chunk out of the fruit. Here's the important bit: keep that chunk in your mouth and chew it, then swallow it just like you would do with a neatly-cut piece of apple if you had done this the slow way. With a little practice, you can consume almost the entire apple this way, and you'll waste much less of the tasty fruit, because you can bite right down to the core, without having to throw away anything that could be eaten.

Next time you see someone cutting an apple into delicate pieces, you can smugly sit there knowing that you could eat an entire fruit before they are even ready to start on theirs!

Well, I thought that providing detailed instructions for how to eat by using your hands and mouth was pretty unhelpful for most people.

You talk as if we all have mouths full of tiny little knives - what are you some kind of alternate universe wolverine?

See, I'm really upset with you all. Tabasco is a home remedy and will not work. Scientists have disproved your claims, and yet you still promote them. GROW UP! Putting hot sauce in your eyes will hurt them, not make them better!

Medical professionals use pure C18H27NO3 (betterr known as 8-methyl-N-vanillyl-6-nonenamide) to treat dry eyes. Put some on the back of your contacts to lubricate them, and use as normal.

You have to get a prescription for that though.
