I get your point, and yes it probably would have helped if squad had said something like. ..

'Released on PC and Mac on 11th October, console releases to follow as soon as Xbox and PS4 certification has been completed.'

But, as has been documented here and on other threads several times since the origibal console release, that doesn't alter the fact that a lot of that process is out if Squad's hands, due to the console certification requirements.  So unfortunately they would still be unable to guess a date with any reasonable degree of accuracy.

I understand it's frustrating, but unfortunately there is no other answer that I am aware of.
