I haven't tried in the full release yet, but in the pre they could stay inside the ship, as long as it was landed or splashed and within physics range.

This is going to safe so much time. :D

Edit: Confirmed. Kerbals still inside WILL be credited for flag planting.

I have years of muscle memory to unlearn now. When I launch my fingers just automatically hit T-Z-M. It'll take many launches before I can unlearn the M.

Now that I have the default throttle setting set to 100%, I have to unlearn hitting the 'Z' after 'T'.

Here's one I really love - not sure if it's part of the extra tweakables, but now you can set the strength of reaction wheels. No more 1m command pods spinning fifteen times with each press of the WSAD keys! I find lowering it is crucial to controlling it if you have a non-pilot aboard and no probe cores.

For me it is pretty much the opposite. Finally the throttle is at 0% (as it should be) without modding it.

I haven't even gotten a chance to play 1.2 yet, but just from looking over the options menu, I know I'm going to love it. I can set navball in map mode to be visible by default? I can choose to see predicted trajectory over more SoI changes? I can decide for myself what my launchpad throttle level should be? Magnificent!

It's definitely a small thing (and slightly cliched KSP but I still like it :) ). The doors on the side of the experiment storage canister. "Mystery Goo", "Test Tubes", "Duct Tape". Presumably the duct tape is for field expedient repairs to the test tubes after Jeb tries working with them in his EVA suit. :)

And another big thumbs up for the navball setting for the map screen.

Look on the other side :)
