A new update: 1.3.2!

Changelog:

• The wonderful mod stock-part-revamp moves the models for the stock batteries, and by calling my cfg after his mod, the RealBatteries now should show up again.
• And now it's possible to remove the CoreHeatModule from the cfg at all, if s1 doesn't want to have any heat related features (like i do after having some hard time with stock heat mechanism)
• Have PUN!

I am thinking of refactoring the whole sourcecode to be based on a VesselModule, the changes would mean:

• Batteries will only be "tanks" full of SC
• Those tanks' resources could be switched by other mods like B9 partswitch to have SC_LIION; SC_LEADACID and so on
• The "brain" will be on every vessel, not spread out on each part
• maybe i'll get rid of those thermal parts, too many bugs on high warps i don't want to deal with
• maybe more improvements during the process

tell me what you think, are you happy with the current solution? do you guys want anything different?

I would recommend the very good mod janitor from linuxgurugamer. This way you can hide any part you like, while still supporting old ships.

Hello @Blackline I really like mod but I've encountered issue. I've finally ported from venerable 1.1.3 to 1.2.2.1 with RO/RSS/RP-0 and ton of other mods and I do not see parts in game. I have only some strange ones. All I see are kind of positon lights known from stock batteries and that's it. It looks like this:

The plugin is for ksp 1.3 you are 1.2 that might be your problem ?

Installed it via ckan so I assumed it will work with 1.2 - thanks for answer

Great work on this mod and I've enjoyed reading about the development process.

I have noticed a small issue however, specifically as it relates to the dependencies as seen by CKAN, there would now appear to be a hard depend on VenStockRevamp but this is not enforced by the installer (nor is it listed on the OP). 

I tested this without the mod (VenStockRevamp) installed and do not get the module read out on the right-click part menu though I do get it when the dependency was included.

Holy f*** you are right. I didn't want it to be a dependency, my mm cfg just must be called after vens stock revamp (because of it's reshuffling of pathes).

Need to think, maybe FOR[ZZZ_REALBATTERY] would be the right thing to do...

hello there,

I'm trying to make a battery that is locked to only 1 type of technology. It doesnt matter what battery type I use, there will always be a button (Next tech) on the right click menu that let me change technology. Right now it seems that "BatteryType = " only change the technology that is displayed in the part description. Once the part is placed, all technologies are available with the context menu. My goal is to make Li ion battery only available later in career.... and I dont care about my part list being cluttered lol

Do you still plan to add NiMh batteries? Its a technology that would fit very well between lead acid and Li ion in term of energy density.

Thanks for this great mod, I'm not using Kerbalism anymore and I'm really glad I can finally use it!

Found big problem as I also do not use VenStockRevamp and installing the current version caused all RealBatteries to disapear. Removing ":AFTER[VenStockRevamp]" resolves the issue.

Have found a problem is the mod that seems to only show up sometimes. The EC amount locks in what the batteries see resulting in them never providing power during this. Recent finding launched a ship to Mun that used batteries on the transfer ship and lander. Undocked the lander and during the entire landing mission the EC showed 100% even when actual EC dropped to about 20%. After redocking with the transfer ship though, the batteries EC started correctly reflecting actual EC status.

Yes. I had missed the latest changes because I stopped KSP'ing @~ August 2017

I just started again a few days ago with 1.4.0 - now on 1.4.1

And I'm curious if the amount of SC is still very much lower compared to stock EC in same sized batteries ...

:FOR[VenStockRevamp]

inside the RealBattery_mm.cfg - and has likely been always like that (it was :AFTER[VenStockRevamp] before)

Is it on purpose?

I don't find any info about VSR inside the OP.

thanks to @maja  i know that FOR is wrong, and its fixed in my local repo. Since its not a big problem, ill fix it with the next release.
