Most science from a single mssion

Hello,

After a considerable amount of driving across the surface of the Mun I collected my Kerbals and returned them home. This netted me 1768.9 science (see below)

It made me wonder, what's  the most science you have earned in a single mission?

I guess this is a bit of a challenge. Only one launch from Kerbin to somewhere (they could be multiple somewheres).

Hopping landers and rovers are allowed but refueling is not. You have to use the fuel you brought with you on the initial launch and once that is spent it is mission over.

However you are allowed a second launch to bring the science home.

I was rather pleased with my haul, but I am sure it can be beaten.

One of the Jool 5 challenges is to bring back all the science you can. I think the leader brought back around 53,000 or so.

You can easily get 3000-4000 from a Minmus run.

...and that's not counting the laboratory.

I just delivered about 60 experiments from Minmus surface to the orbital lab. I think every single experiment possible on or a little above the surface. I estimate the expected yield as some 50,000 science. at about 2500 science per month.

Meanwhile, Duna trucky just got 70th experiment stored, and still has 3 biomes to harvest, so they will deliver a round 100 experiments to the Duna lab when they finish. I won't even dare to estimate what the lab will produce.
