[OSX] KSP stuck on "loading asset bundle definitions"

Recommended Posts

Yes this is a known issue with OSX Sierra. - Which I am assuming you are running to encounter this problem.
There are a number of threads already and you can work around the problem.
Basically:
OSX Sierra GateKeeper will quarantine any downloaded app. It randomly moves the files to a temp folder when you run it.
This causes problems for KSP and Unity apps.
By copying the folder permissions are changed and the quarantine removed. and then moving them back again. You can then execute the app.
Same goes for downloaded mods.

So what you do is copy the folder say onto your desktop and then move it back to Applications again - should fix it.

Glad you got it going. It's a known issue and we are working on a fix.

Since you've been working on it for 2 years, any fix? I have to launch KSP from the executable within the package contents myself (1.5.1).

Hi, I just installed 1.8 (2686) on High-Sierra Mac OS 10.13.6 and ran into this issue.

I Tried launching an executable directly by navigating to the following dir and right-clicking open.

/Applications/KSP_os/KSP/Contents/MacOS/KSP

This launched the game but still got stuck on "Loading Asset Bundle Definitions".

Can you please post direct instructions for the workarounds to launch this? I'm installing this for my 8-YO son and don't have time to dig through forums and posts to try potential alternatives.

we are having the same issue. it's frustrating to pay for an application that has the same known issue for 2+ years. what do we do to fix the loading from getting stuck at "loading asset bundle definitions"?
