Im listening!

Sorry for the late response, but here's the incredibly abbreviated version: (After writing the first 2 phases, this isn't actually as abbreviated as I wanted it to be...)

Spoiler

Phase 0 - The Beginning (no world, just in my head)

A long time ago, there was a villager named Bill in a world. He dreamed of building spaceships and going to space. However, he couldn't do that, because eons ago, all villagers had suffered a terrible mutation that rendered their arms completely useless. However, he worked out all of the math necessary to build a reusable rocket capable of delivering a payload of about 45 blocks into Low Earth Orbit.

(In the story, Earth is a cube and orbits behave weirdly, but it works out, i promise.)

Eventually, the villager enlists the help of a player. The player helps him build a few prototype rocket engines, reprogrammable music disc driven computers, and life support systems. He also helps develop space rated iron blocks, and other materials. SRIB are created by taking a normal iron block and forging it with 3 redstone, 5 iron, 2 gold, and an obsidian. However, right as the construction of the first Iron Giant was to begin, the player burned all of the villages and severely griefed the world. The dream had died and none of the villagers trusted players again. Many players came and went from that world, some kind, some harsh. But Bill the villager retained his dream of space.

Phase 1 - Iron Giants (Survival world. The first launch was done 99% legit, no creative mode (except to spawn in a second elytra because there was only one in the entire world). Later on we were paid to launch sats and tourists so we went into creative mode to receive payment and buy stuff)

Then came a player named Namegame123. He wanted to be called Ultimate Steve, but that name was taken. Along with Steve came his sister, who I will refer to as The Alex. The villagers avoided them as they did the other players... They built and underwater base and then forgot about it for some reason. Then, after the construction of a massive city (for survival, anyway), a giant railroad network, and the defeat of the enderdragon, Steve decided he wanted to go to space. So, beneath a small island known as Giant's Thumb, he built a TNT-minecart cannon and launched himself one time above the Karman line of 100,000 blocks. He flew downward under the wings of his elytra back into the world he had started in, landing in the middle of the desert next to a village. He was confronted by a villager by the name of Bill...

The villagers opened up to Steve. They had the designs, but being unable to move their arms, they could not build them. Steve agreed to help, and the group, now known as the Notebook Space Program (NSP or NSPM for short) began clearing off a small island for the launch facilities. They called this island "Space Island."

There was a tiny starter house built, then a small laboratory where casting of SRIB and the creation of other high function blocks (made in the same way of SRIB - yes, I did actually throw a bunch of stuff into lava) took place. After that, a bridge was built onto the island, a dock was constructed for the recovery ships, an elytra tower was erected, an astronaut mansion was built... Finally, the mission control building (staffed by villagers) and the administration skyscraper were constructed.

As far as launch facilities go, there was no VAB. The rocket was constructed block by block on the launch pad. It was 23 blocks tall, counting the capsule section, which could carry a single person. The island had an extensive tunnel system underneath it, consisting of an emergency shelter, a quarantine center, and a launch escape bunker which could be reached from the small astronaut readiness center (which contained the spacesuit and astronaut inventory).

After months of work, The Steve was ready to launch himself into space. He invited many rich investors from the local worlds. They flew in on skyships-

PAUSE FOR CANNON

Skyships are basically flying boats. They fly under the power of the incredibly rare substance known as mystic cobblestone. It floats due to the presence of mystic particles.

I'm not going to go too far into mystic particles, but there are many different types which do many different things. They also power lava reactors (like nuclear reactors, but cooler), which can, under the right circumstances, be used as a propulsion system with incredibly high specific impulse (upwards of 29,000, but we'll get to that later).

You don't need to understand all of it but I'm going to reference these terms a lot.

End pause

-to view the launch from nearby snowman island (which wasn't actually an island, but housed two giant snowmen). After much suspense, the rocket lifted off gloriously taking The Steve upwards, nearly shattering the windows of the mission control building, which was at most 40 blocks away from the launch pad. The Iron Giant, powered by one netherlox engine and four integrated firework boosters ascended like an arrow and released the second stage, also powered by a netherlox engine. The second stage stopped its burn a few meters per second short of orbit before releasing the capsule, which had an internal monopropellant engine for orbital maneuvering. Stage one landed on a droneship and Stage two completed one orbit before paragliding down onto a large platform of slime blocks. The Steve orbited two and a half times, completing several scientific EVA's before de-orbiting and landing safely in the world.

Bill rejoiced, for his reusable launch system had worked! The first artificial satellite had been launched as well, a manned capsule. Steve had also released a mostly inert iron block into orbit. It would remain in orbit for several decades.

However, home built rockets built one block at a time would never be sustainable. They needed money to mass buy materials - and they found it. Emperor Pennyroyal, a powerful, kind, and wise emperor outbid the other investors to be on the next flight into space. He paid two stacks of diamond blocks, one stack of gold blocks, and managed to find one bedrock as well as three creeper eggs, several enchanted books, another elytra, and several other oddities... Several days later, Iron Giant was readied for its second launch, reusing everything except the fireworks, pyrotechnic stage separation devices, pyrotechnic parachute deployers, oxygen and fuel. Emperor Pennyroyal spent a longer duration on orbit and performed several experiments, the most notable being releasing several blocks of TNT set on a timer into space. They exploded after he made a safe return to Earth, and we gained a better understanding of how explosions behave in a vacuum.

Economy for the curious: 1 diamond=1 gold block = 32 or 16 iron depending on the day = 16 obsidian = 3 stacks redstone. Later on we find out that 1 bedrock = 9 stacks of diamond blocks, but that's not important until a few more phases have passed.

I'm going to abbreviate this part even more, but then they built two block two Iron Giants which used pistons instead of pyrotechnics, increasing reusability. They launched some sats, and began building Space Station Wonder, a research outpost in low Earth orbit to be inhabited by players, villagers, and tourists. However, one of the boosters failed to land and exploded on an inhabited island causing the memory loss of everyone caught there. After some investigation, it was discovered that the lava in their nether was producing strange particles that caused memory loss (a new type of mystic particle). Because the fuel for the rocket was nether lava based, the rocket's fuel would cause the loss. They searched the nether before discovering that there was a futuristic looking space probe buried in the lava emitting the particles. They were able to stop it and examine the probe. It had no visible propulsion systems and carried several stacks of ender pearls on board.

They decided to form an agency called "The Infinity League" and use it to investigate these mystic particles.

There was also a suborbital rocket series called Torch.

(This is where I haven't played to yet, but I know what will happen in this world).

Then the group built block 3 Iron Giants, which used upgraded SRB's and enhanced reusability. They finished the space station, launched moon and planet probes, and netted the NSPM/IL huge sums of money. They used this to build a particle accelerator ringing their entire world in an attempt to create bedrock. They eventually use an advanced Iron Giant to assemble a mothership on LEO to send The Steve to complete one landing on the moon. However, one day, a humongous spaceship (like, several hundred blocks long) falls from the sky and lands in another world. Onboard the ship they find no indication of its owner, only that it carried several massive bombs of unknown yield.

The program made an attempt to build a larger rocket, which would be 5 by 5 with the corners chopped off in diameter. This rocket was unfinished when one day an asteroid was detected heading straight for Earth. The decision was made quickly, they would launch one of the futuristic weapons onboard the hastily completed rocket, the NSP-Dragonhearted (bonus points if you get the reference) and blow up the massive asteroid (the size of a few End islands). One villager, however, deciphered some of the files on the ship's advanced computer. He said it was from the future and that launching Dragonhearted would bring more doom than not. Nobody believed him because he accidentally deleted the files. Days before the launch, he steals the NSP's original capsule recovery skyship, the Mega Midget, and sailed away in an attempt to escape the destruction he thought would ensure.

The launch of the Dragonhearted was successful. However, when the warhead detonated next to the asteroid, it's mystic particles get amplified by something on the asteroid and are deflected back to Earth. The asteroid is destroyed, but the resulting mystic particle wave destroys an area the size of Texas and erases the memory of many millions of players. The Steve sees this explosion coming and orders the immediate evacuation of the island, fearing memory loss. Most of the villagers, including Bill, pack onto a skyship and try to escape. The Alex seals herself in a strengthened obsidian bunker along with one of the 20 copies of The Codec of Knowledge, a book detailing exactly how the NSP's rockets were built.

The Steve also attempts to reach a bunker, but he is too late. The mystic particle wave reaches Earth and burns several hundred worlds. He, being in the city near the museum, boards the original Iron Giant rocket and launches upwards to avoid the destruction. The wave is deadly, but not too deadly... However, the particle accelerator was left on, and it encircled the world. The particles were amplified and the resulting explosions formed a giant circular cut all the way through bedrock. The world fell into the void and was destroyed. The Alex was catapulted several kilometers away. The root world was lost.

Phase 2 - Memory and The Cube War (no world. Made up stuff, a journal, and five short stories)

The villager who had stolen the skyship made it several hundred kilometers before he stopped and convinced a local duo of players to build an underground base to ride out the explosion. They agreed (this part was a real world). They stayed underground for a few months.

The Alex, carrying the Codec of Knowledge, one of few remaining, exited her bunker and ran through the wasteland, desperate to get to the end before she lost her memory. It did not work and she forgot everything and began wandering aimlessly, forgetting about the book she carried.

The Steve was aiming for Space Station Wonder. However, flying through the wave, the computer systems failed and Steve could barely remember how to fly the rocket. He had to put the capsule down in a random part of the world. He aimed for an uninhabited portion of PC server land.

The villagers who had escaped upon the skyship missed most of the wave. However, they did undergo a mutation... For that group of villagers, including Bill, their arms worked again. They set down after a while and began making a space program of their own, the Villager Space Program (VSP). This was a world but it was accidentally deleted.

The villager who made the shelter, upon exiting, found out that some pigs had mutated. They could talk now and they tried to make a space program.

The Alex, upon a random memory trigger, found the Codec again. However, many of the pages were badly burnt, so she couldn't make out much, but she came to the page about The Steve, who she had forgotten. She wanted to find him but the other pages about him were burnt. She read that another copy of the Codec (hopefully intact) was onboard Space Station Wonder, so she tried to make a space program as well... She failed pretty badly early on.

Earlier, a group of players tried to see what would happen when you stuck fifty players into a world with bedrock walls. The first experiment, Cube War One, took place in a world a few hundred by a few hundred blocks. Cube War Two was smaller. Three and four were increasingly smaller, with Four being fifty by fifty blocks. The first three ended the same way - started peaceful. Arguments break out. One man ends up in charge. The world is stripped of resources. On day 100 lava falls from the sky. (I wrote these four stories out, I can scan the pages if you like)

However, in Cube War Four, a group of players built a TNT cannon that launched eight players over the wall, as that was all of the blast protection armor they had. They gathered supplies outside the wall, and later built another cannon to cannon back into the wall. Only one of them made it alive because one overlord had covered the world in lava. He alone did not have the armor for everyone, so unfortunately they were not all able to escape. On day 99, the third great cannon was lit, and at least twenty of the fifty managed to escape.

Cube War Five, however, was different. The world was 800 by 800 blocks, and held 200 players - all of them the veterans of the first four Cube Wars. After some exchange of words, they set about building cannons and cooperating... They were finally going to beat this, something that the experimenters had intended from the very start.

However, something messed up the control of their experiments. One day, a strange man who claimed to be from outer space parachuted down into Cube War Five inside a charred iron vessel he called a "Capsule."

This man was The Steve. He told them all he could remember about rockets, space travel, and the Mystic Wave. Some of them listened. He showed them the light of a large archive satellite he had launched. He told them all he knew. Some of them sided with him. The cannons were built, and the world was escaped. Steve and a few of his loyal followers from the world created the New Infinity League and went on to attempt more feats in space.

Phase 3 - The Infinite Cave (A series of three books called In This Dust, Broken Dawn, and 11111010001: A Voxel Odyssey, of which only the first 2/3 of the first one has been written, but I have an outline)

Someone decided to make a server with infinite depth and varying layers of ores just for fun. Boring economy stuff, yahta yahta, blah blah... Speeding this up... In the server, the Infinity League operated in secret, known to but a few, even though they were researching mystic particles and had found ways to do almost anything. Summon 40000 enderdragons? Done. Make a piece of ice that can blow up worlds? Done. Make a lava reactor the size of an xbox 360 nether? Done.

For the average serverperson, though, his name was UltimateSteve99 (no relation to The Steve). He adventured throughout the world and discovered many cool bases in various states of decay. He attempted to outrun Server Overlord Spiderboy, a truly evil individual who basically ruled the server. One day, because the Spiderboy Minecart System is slow and expensive, he tried to build a TNT cannon that shoots people up back to the surface from 100km below the surface, way faster and almost cheaper than the system. Spiderboy is angry and takes over the cannon calling it his own. He is about to find, kill, and ban UltimateSteve99 when the Infinity League stealthily rescues him. He is presumed to have quit the server. However, he has been recruited by the Infinity League and The Steve, NamegameEncrypted123, pays UltimateSteve99 for his username, which is close to the one he always wanted.

The Infinity League then tries to build a massive teleporter machine, but only succeed in accidentally teleporting the server to the southern face of the Cube of the Earth. The machine broke and they couldn't repair it fast enough... They managed to send a message back in time to warn themselves, but it fell upon deaf ears. The south pole is known for the strange decay effect. It causes all blocks placed there to become infected and eventually disappear. This effect began at the edge of the world.

The second book, Broken Dawn (named for the fact that at the south pole the sun only sets or rises once a year) focuses mainly on what the server is like in denial. Nobody panics for a while, and the Infinity League try to teleport the server back, but only succeed in accelerating the decay.

In book three, 11111010001: A Voxel Odyssey, the world begins to panic. Server Overlord Spiderboy buys all of the blocks he can get his hands on and announced "Project Moses," designed to have players build a massive bridge as they walked, having it disappearing behind them due to decay. The server's economy collapses and it becomes more of an anarchy than it was even previously. Repeated attempts by the Infinity League to save the server fail. As the decay is closing in on Spawn, a mining team reaches the center of the Earth. I haven't decided what they will find yet. Project Moses departs, but ruthless Spiderboy only lets a few hundred of his loyal servants onboard instead of the masses he promised. The remaining players at Spawn band together and attempt to fight off the decay.

Meanwhile, the top fifty members of the Infinity League launch aboard an unnamed lava reactor powered rocket with a 30% chance of working. They exit the world and arc over to exit the bottom face of the Earth.

After a good fight, spawn collapses and the server vanishes into dust.

As the saying goes... In this dust there was a city.

Phase 3A - Meanwhile...

The pig's space program is failing really badly.

The Villager's space program has made some small suborbital research rockets.

The Alex's space program has made a few gigantic derpy cobblestone exploding rockets. She is getting closer to space, however.

Phase 4 - Really short (no worlds, just story)

Spiderboy's Project Moses had been a complete failure. Half of his servants died during the first week. They quickly realized that they would never be able to make it off the face of the Earth. In a moment of desperation, they turned backwards and tried to reach the South Pole, which was really close. They only had a few thousand blocks left when they finally reached it, with only 28 of their party remaining. Spiderboy was overcome with a hatred of The Infinity League for destroying his empire and swore revenge if it was the last thing he did.

At the south pole they found a stable fifty block island made of an unknown material. On the island there was a portal which connected the poles. The north one was much more hospitable and Spiderboy escaped.

Meanwhile, the Infinity League's rocket, which had post-liftoff been named Voxel Odyssey, had broken up severely during re-entry. The members activated their Elytras, but only 43 of the 50 survived, including The Steve. They vowed to be more careful this time and hide their world better. They settled on a command block located in a random world buried underground where nobody would ever find it. This command block established a small building which consisted of eight concentric item frames, leading to dimension negative eight, which was infinite and all void. The Infinity League built their new research facility here and became more powerful than ever before. Insanely powerful. Dangerously powerful... However, every single one of them had taken a solemn vow that they would never use this technology for war, unless it was in self defense.

More meanwhile...

The pig's space program is still failing.

The VSP is almost in orbit.

The Alex has actually managed orbit by some stroke of luck. However, she was unable to locate Space Station Wonder (and the complete codec) and her oxygen was running low, so she returned to Earth in defeat.

Phase 5 - The rise and fall of the Alpha Squadron (No worlds, mostly. The ASRA world is real, but is only partial)

Spiderboy was not stupid. He knew psychology. If a hundred thousand players tried to take over the world hundreds of thousands more would join them. So, he set out to create the Alpha Squadron, which would hopefully take over all of the Minecraft worlds. He wanted to find the IL and destroy them.

However, some of the people in the AS wanted to make a space program. Spiderboy demanded that it would be focused primarily on military technology, but he let it happened. The Alpha Space and Rocketry Agency, or ASRA, built several thousand missiles to aid the AS. As a side project, they built several space stations to establish a military presence in space. They also sent people to land on the moon (not going to go into this, I'm failing at keeping this short).

Shortly before this, they had found The Alex. They kept secret from her the fact that they wanted to destroy the IL but promised to help her find The Steve. In exchange she helped them with their rockets.

Then the invasion started. 10% of the world was taken over. Then 20%. Then 40. 50. 60. 65. The Alpha Squadron used mystic particle bombs, ICBM's, and orbital bombardment weapons along with several hundred thousand players to take over the whole, world by world. However, at 76%, everyone got bored and left. The AS collapsed within a week. Spiderboy, sensing the end was coming, ordered the destruction of everything that contained sensitive information. The entire ASRA project screeched to a halt. Missile silos were blown up and stations were de-orbited onto enemy targets. Rockets were destroyed. Even their small moon base was disassembled. The AS tried to hide itself, but then, the Villager Space Program, in collaboration with The Alex, who had escaped and learned the truth, launched two nukes, one at the capital of the AS, and one at themselves, obliterating their launch complexes, but not after running away.

The thing is, though, Spiderboy had succeeded in destroying the IL. One of their soldiers had found the device that stabilized the item frame portal and broke it accidentally. All of that matter packed into the space of a single block - a black hole almost formed, but a gigantic explosion resulted instead. Somehow a few players survived, and running from the AS they used their latest experiment, artificially accelerated mystic cobblestone, to build a massive skybase and fly away (this is a real skybase). The Alpha Squadron and the Infinity League were both dead, but they would rise later on.

Phase 6 - The Meeting (this is mostly in an actual creative world).

EDIT: Oops. I didn't finish it and hit submit. I'll edit this again when all of it is written.

EDIT: Phase 3 done. There are, like, 10 phases, so this might be a multiple day writeup...

EDIT: Phase 5 done. I'll write the rest later.

Thats a pretty awesome storyline! How long (in real time) have you been making this storyline? I also have a few storyline of things but nothing really Minecraft related, it might need a seperate thread because it is getting sort of off-topic.

Anyways, school is out. Wanna know why? Here's why:

Anyways, its my sisters 18th birthday. She's lucky she got a day off.

Yeah. Its that kind of wind that makes walking seem like climbing a hill.

Here is some more video footage:

Woke up this morning... everything is iced over... and the power was out!!!  That was just rude!!!

But it's back, so I can make coffee... and the internet just came back on... wheh!

Oh, and we had a Baltimore Oriole in the back yard this morning, trying to get a drink from a frozen bird-bath. 20 years, I've never seen one in the back yard. So I put on a jacket, went out back with a hammer, and smashed the ice. The sun is up now, so hopefully it won't refreeze.

The northern parts of Germany are also affected by this, albeit weaker (people and bikes don't fly through the air). It's a pain to walk in, especially when you need to go through a trench-like street with buildings on both sides where the wind is even stronger.

I just hope noone got or will get seriously injured today.

Hmm... IRL chronologically, the ASRA world was the first world to be made, I think in 2014-ish. Then there was a ton of other worlds, the actual creative mode rocket world (which I haven't told about yet) coming soon after. The first survival started in late 2016, with the cannon launch occuring in Jan. 2017, and the first Iron Giant launch on March 30, 2017... Symbolic because that was also the same day SpaceX reused a booster for the first time. In that world I've currently launched five modules of the space station (about halfway finished), and the next launch will introduce a non-reusable solid fueled kick stage that will launch a lunar impact probe.

I'll get pictures of stuff eventually, but these worlds are all on the xbox 360, and screenshotting involves syncing your account to a twitter of facebook or something like that, so I might just take pictures of the screen instead.

Unfortunately one person lost their live today because of the heavy winds. So i doubt that there aren't any people who got seriously injures, :(. Luckily, in the place where im at the wind has reduced and is back to normal.

@NSEP Phases 6 and onward of the storyline:

Spoiler

Phase 6 - The Meeting (this is mostly in an actual creative world).

The members of the Infinity League had been living in a utopia for so long, they forgot how to Minecraft. Half of them nearly starved.

They were flying through the sky on a giant platform of mystic cobblestone, flat and empty. All they had was what was in their inventories. So, one person used all of his wood to make a storage and farming building on one corner. Another took some obsidian and made a vault. Then there was a sleeping area built.

At this point it got fun. People built structures on top of structures in a ramshackle way, leading to the most wonderfully ridiculous build ever. You could walk down main street, pass a mushroom farm atop a swimming pool, the water tank and a lava reactor, a weapons station, before deciding to go up a cake staircase to the dining room, kitchen, piloting center (to steer the ship), the missile launch room, more battlements, a laborotory, and a meeting room, and maybe stop in the alchemists' tower as well.

Beneath the cobblestone slab was hung a small particle accelerator, and then underneath that a runway. Droppable bombs, a hangar, prison cells, docking arms, a mushroom farm, an open air bar, you name it, Skybase Nelson had it.

Seriously, this was one of my funnest builds ever. Try it sometime!

But the crowning jewel and something that everyone hoped never had to be used was the Omega, another lava reactor powered rocket attached to the side of the base that would be used to evacuate if the base was ever attacked.

The Infinity League ran for forty days before setting down.

Meanwhile, the Villager Space Program, with the aid of The Alex, set up shop in a superflat world. They had some money to buy things, but they had no lava to use as fuel. So, they invented a new fuel, a hybrid fuel called racklox. The fuel used a netherrack matrix to hold a solid mixture of fuel materials. Liquid oxygen was piped through this section and burnt to produce thrust. They built a rocket smaller than the Iron Giant, and called it Macaroni I. It was designed to be as light as possible so it could SSTO. It made eight flights, two of which were failures.

Then, they began building a space station. A large one, with modules that were 3x3 inside. This required a bigger rocket, which they called Macaroni II. The first one used gaseous magma cream as fuel, but that did not work, so they switched to an uncompressed liquid form. With this rocket, they built the first parts of this station. They later built Macaroni III, which was a lengthened version with four massive solid rocket boosters designed to lift 3x3x15 (int) modules into LEO.

However, then something terrible happened. Magma cubes started spawning less and less often due to a glitch where the nether was taken over by normal slimes (this actually happened). The price of magma cream went up and up and up until the VSP could only afford one more launch.

The Alex, desperate about trying to find her brother, reserved the final launch to try and find Space Station Wonder, where the codec of knowledge hopefully was.

Meanwhile, the Infinity League had set down in their new world and had quickly built Pi Tower, their base of operations. It quickly expanded into central Infinity City, built of several observatories, laboratories, houses, and a particle accelerator to make bedrock (which they could sell for money). Using the last of their mystic cobblestone, they built Skybase Karma, which was humongous, armed to the teeth, and resided beneath thick armor. However, before it was completed it was revealed that the Alpha Squadron had died.

They then changed their focus to space exploration yet again. They made a small two person (2x2int) rocket called Silver, which launched from a pad called Kappa Major. They built another small station and did some research in there as well as launching a space telescope. They then also attempted to find Space Station Wonder, if it was still there, and launched a Silver towards it with The Steve himself onboard.

The two capsules, Silver 13 and Baconator 9 met at Space Station Wonder. They both boarded. When they repressurized the ancient station and took off their helmets, they saw each other for the first time in a long time - brother and sister, The Steve and The Alex.

Together they had independently built space programs, both of which were on the brink of falling away. They decided to unite the two into the New Notebook Space Program, or NNSP for short.

Phase 7 - Peaceful exploration (This is all a world, pictures of most rockets are available upon request)

The NNSP, because of the great slime winter, turned to alternate propulsion methods. They pursued lava reactor rockets with several small test articles before dramatically scaling up to a massive rocket called Up Goer.

Up Goer was a rocket larger than any ever built (except for the Alpha Squadron's moon rocket, but even I don't know what it looked like) and had several decks inside making it the closest thing to a luxury spaceship built so far. Due to its lava reactor (comprising only 15% of the mass of the whole rocket) it had insanely high thrust and efficiency, including a specific impulse of over 9,000. It was SSTO capable with nine crew plus cargo, and could be reused several times before refurbishment.

They launched it a few times. It was a completely successful ship. They expanded the station with it. Then, they built three more for a fleet of four - Star Machine, Sky Walker, and Space Farer, all mostly identical to Up Goer, enough to use the same launch pad. They were also upgraded significantly, with specific impulses of above 13,000 - this allowed them to fly single staged to an elliptical lunar orbit and back with a small payload. Plans were drawn up for a lunar landing.

Then, one day, Sky Walker exploded during its TLI burn. Nobody knew why. A month later, Space Farer, carrying the first prototype lunar lander, exploded as well. Star Machine was sent on a rescue mission for the still alive crew, and the crew transferred successfully. However, Star Machine's engine exploded during the atmospheric entry burn, resulting in the breakup of Star Machine. The crew glided down to Earth on Elytras and survived.

Up Goer was grounded. Some experiments were done, and they discovered that prolonged use of a lava reactor operating in thrust mode caused the buildup of a previously unknown mystic particle that is usually inert. However, when triggered, these particles exploded. The particle was very unpredictable and hard to get rid of.

The NNSP found themselves in need of many different conventional rockets. They had a budget surplus, so they built a few - ATV-22, a 2x2 interior (a plus sign on the outside) netherlox supply ship. AFRO, a fragile hydrolox SSTO that could carry 8 people up to orbit (but only 3 back down). The Shuttle, which is basically the same thing as the real life shuttle (two orbiters were built, Guardian and Ocelot). And finally, Gargantua, a massive expendable launch system with a massive LEO payload designed for space station modules that were seven blocks in diameter (5x5 on the inside).

WIth these four rockets, they reestablished a presence in LEO by expanding their station, renaming it to the Infinity Space Station.

Along the way, two more rockets were added to the fleet: Skye and Escargantua. Skye was a pretty expensive hydrolox four stage (with boosters) rocket capable of taking four people or a small payload to low lunar orbit. Escargantua was a one-off rocket to launch a massive node, lava reactor, and tourism module (complete with movie theater) which was built out of four lengthened Gargantua cores strapped together, with twelve Gargantua SRB's on the outside. The second stage was built from scratch, a massive fifteen meter diameter tank. On its first and only launch, it somehow worked, but due to the exorbitantly high cost, no more were ever built.

Eventually, it was time to go to Mars. A massive mothership was constructed in Low Earth Orbit using four Gargantua launches - the propulsion section, the command section, the science section, and the lander. The mothership was named Joey Tempest and off to Mars it went.

Mars was a custom superflat world with a layer of TNT exploded to make craters. It was played in survival with several chests of supplies in the lander.

The first Mars Expedition, ME-1, discovered aliens very similar to the Earth mobs. It built a gigantic base, and advanced the frontier of science, but the most important discovery was -

If you used Martian glass to encapsulate a lava reactor, it would absorb and break down the mystic particle that caused the old Lava Reactor rockets to explode.

This was big. Upon closer inspection, the reactor of the original Up Goer appeared to have been accidentally made of iron found in a meteorite that came from Mars, which is why it didn't explode. The second the crew of ME-1 got back to Earth, construction on Up Goer II started. It was even bigger than the original, more luxurious, and designed to take large space station modules (as well as crew) to Low Lunar Orbit and back. If it carried minimum payload, it would be able to SSTO to the Lunar surface and back, while being fully reusable.

And so, life continued. A Lunar Space Station was built, a small lander was sent to the surface (where they discovered the remains of the Alpha Squadron's Moon Base), and many more rockets were introduced.

ATV-22Mk2 - updated ATV-22.

AFRO 2 - less dangerous modern version of AFRO.

Gargantua U - extremely upgraded variant of Gargantua, almost not the same rocket anymore. Highly customizable with dozens of possible configurations (most of which will never be needed). Lower stage with variable length and engine count, second stage with two lengths, two different third stages, and a fourth stage. Can have anywhere from zero to eight boosters (but not odd numbers). However, for anything more than four boosters, a new pad is needed, the old one can't do that many. This rocket is used to launch tremendous station modules (7x7 interior, rounded) and also Apollo-style missions to the Moon (because development of Up Goer II was too slow).

DreamChaser - small one man rocket built by a private company, SpaceM.

Victory - small rocket designed to take six people into LEO, by SpaceM. Later R variant allowed first stage reusability.

Victory Heavy - you get the point.

Freeman - small rocket that launched out of a space cannon to get 10 blocks to orbit, could launch every few minutes. Developed by private company Destination:Space! or D:S!

Darth One - D:S! rocket capable of taking one man TSTO in a tiny minimalist capsule with very little margin. Pioneered a high efficiency Dragon's Breath Netherlox fuel. However, it had a success rate of only 30% during testing. On its first operational mission to the D:S! Space Station, which consisted of four flights, all four astronauts died, one on launch and three for various reasons on entry. The program has been cancelled.

Darth Two - D:S! rocket capable of putting two items into orbit, giving it an insanely tiny capacity. Fueled by DBNL and high efficiency fireworks. At the time it was the smallest orbital rocket ever, one block wide and less than six blocks tall.

Darth Three - D:S!'s second attempt at a low cost one man launcher. Rocket ended up as a 1x1 two staged Dragon's Breath Magmalox (different from DBNL) rocket. The astronaut sits in a minecart protected by a glass dome which is pushed off later in flight. After second stage burnout, he/she exits the minecart and propels him/herself with high efficiency fireworks into orbit in an approach that has been dubbed "Project Iron Man." Re-entry protection is provided by a set of obsidian alloy armor that also doubles as a spacesuit. An Elytra is deployed for landing.

Space Shuttle Enderman - a military space shuttle powered by lava reactor propulsion. Has undergone many secret missions, such as investigating the Alpha Squadron's abandoned space stations, doing recon over the poles, launching a prototype warp drive (which accidentally time travelled and became the probe found in the nether of the first world), redirecting an asteroid, and many other interesting (but secret) missions.

TLM - lunar capable lava reactor rocket made by The Alex. The rocket has been delayed forever, its construction began at the same time as the original Up Goer, or maybe slightly after. It has yet to fly, and what "TLM" stood for has been lost to time.

Smallsat Ten - ten privately developed smallsat launchers. The smallest, Po-Go! is a five block tall rocket capable of placing a single flowerpot sized sat into orbit. The largest, SPYDER, is a carbon fiber (represented by Obsidian) nine engined rocket with a capacity of 60-70 blocks. In between are very diverse designs (ask if you like, I won't type up all ten unless you ask).

During Mars Expedition Two, which also used the Joey Tempest mothership, the crew landed near Mars' poles. However, their base was overrun by aliens and they had to leave in a hurry. They managed to come back with more martian glass, however, which allowed the construction of two more lava reactor ships.

The first was mothership Bon Jovi, which would do ME-3 at the next transfer window. It was a lava reactor powered luxury spaceship with twice the habitable volume of Joey Tempest, which would leave during the same transfer window for ME-4. Bon Jovi boasted a larger lander, capable of visiting Phobos and Deimos as well as Mars. It could also carry thirteen people as opposed to the five on Joey Tempest. The mothership was powered by lava reactor during Earth Orbit operations, but conventional rockets had to be used for Mars as Mars lacked the magnetic field that made lava reactors super efficient.

The second ship was the biggest spaceship ever, taller (although not as wide) than even Escargantua. It was called the Starmachine2000 after Star Machine. It was basically a flying skyscraper and truly a luxury spaceship. It was capable of SSTO to the lunar surface and back with a massive payload.

No longer was the vehicle the bottleneck, it was now the payload.

I have not played further than this in this phase, but I know what I want to happen.

Then the NNSP sent ME-3 and 4 to Mars where they continued their exploration of Mars and their aliens. They built a lunar space station and a lunar base to study the moon and expand the final frontier.

Phase 8 - and old enemy (These are all going to be real rockets, but I haven't built them yet)

Spiderboy was growing old. He had a kingdom. He ruled it slightly better than the Infinite Cave server, but still subpar. He still had loyal followers. However, the Infinity League was growing back and exploring space... He still wanted to have his revenge, but he was broke. One day, a strange meteor made of Bedrock fell near his kingdom and shattered into collectible pieces somehow. And he was rich again.

Gathering a hundred thousand players would not work this time. He needed technology. So he rebooted the AS under a new name - the Alpha Army and kept it secret. He reinstated ASRA and they quickly built several rockets and built nuclear missile silos all around. In June they flew their first rocket, the Blade of Tomorrow. By December they were flying Glowstone and Diamond III, crewed rockets the size of Victory (Falcon 9). They operated under the guise of a peaceful research program to distract the Infinity League/NNSP.

By the time the IL moon base was complete, ASRA had fifty silos and an orbital bombardment station under the guise of a research station. The IL asked if they could help, and ASRA swiftly declined. The IL found out about the Alpha Army and began arming Infinity City and building a secret station of their own, in medium high orbit (10k km) which was also a mystic research facility. Another laser cannon was added to the ISS.

The Alpha Army tried to attack the ISS with their military space shuttle and failed. Then a great space battle lasting a month occurred, ending with nobody winning. Kessler happened. Nobody could go to space for a while. The ISS was protected by a debris shield, but it depended on solar power and its only solar arrays were mostly original and losing power.

At this point the total nuclear/mystic arsenal of the AA and the IL exceeded the amount required to destroy the entire Earth (and moon). Spiderboy wanted to attack the IL, even if it meant the death of the world, but his advisors would not let him. They entered a cold war state and after a few months Kessler calmed down enough for some shielded rocket launches.

Up Goer III was launched. It was an experimental low warp speed spaceship. It somehow managed to work, but its range was severely limited. In order to be efficient enough to journey several light years (to refuel at a star), just the warp core would have to be the size of a skyscraper.

ME3 and 4 reached Mars and returned. Then, Joey Tempest was sent to Venus to become a permanently orbiting space station. Bon Jovi was refitted with a better lava reactor and sent to explore the moons of Jupiter. The IL began construction of the NNSP-OM-03 "Martin Molin." It was a vessel designed to take hundreds of colonists to Mars.

However, before these plans came to fruition, Spiderboy and a few of his highly trained assassins eliminated the advisors and the chain of command to wage war. He began rapidly and not-so-secretly manufacturing tens of tens of thousands of weapons of mass destruction.

The Infinity League was tired of this. They wanted to be able to complete their research and their passions in peace. Earth would simply not do.

In a heart wrenching decision, The Steve decides to activate the top secret Project Omega. Beneath bedrock, beneath Pi Tower, for years was built a ten kilometer long warp capable spaceship - Spaceship Infinity. It had a twenty percent chance of working.

A third of the Infinity League believes they must stay behind in order to save the world from the Alpha Squadron. They do not board the ship, despite the ample room on board. Staying behind, they prepare to defend the Earth from itself with hundreds of thousands of weapons of mass destruction.

Space Station Wonder is collected and returned to Earth. It is placed in the museum wing of Space Station Infinity.

And then the Alpha Army nukes the world, and pummels the fortress that is Infinity City. Space stations are obliterated, several of the Earth's faces are torn apart. And in the middle of it all, the ten kilometer tall Spaceship Infinity rises from its hole in the ground. Once it has cleared the atmosphere, it goes to warp speed, producing a wave of energy that wipes out a chunk of the Earth the size of Australia. Infinity City is destroyed. The fate of Spaceship Infinity is unknown.

Phase 9 - Saving The World (Mostly storyline, no worlds)

The Alpha Army rules the world with an iron fist. Life is bad, but nobody can rise up. A few days after the initial nuking, what is left of the IL/NNSP launches a final rocket - the uncompleted Emerald Sky, which was built alongside the original Up Goer series. It was really tremendous, but after the grounding it was abandoned. It reaches orbit, falling apart along the way, and docks with the Martin Molin. It is converted to a warp ship and several warheads are installed.

However, the warp jump fails, leaving the crew dead, and the ship teleports backwards in time where it becomes the ship that fell on the original world. The Steve uses one of the warheads to destroy the asteroid.

After several years, the rule has calmed down significantly. The AA still reigns, but they have dismantled some of their weapons. One day, however, spaceship Bon Jovi returns from Jupiter, having redirected an asteroid to be on a collision course with Earth. They say they will do nothing to stop it, and that the people must rise up to stop it.

Spiderboy does not believe them and orders the AA not to do anything. The Bon Jovi is shot down and destroyed before it can escape to Mars.

Six years later, the asteroid is seen in the sky. Spiderboy grows nervous. He realizes the only thing strong enough to prevent such a large asteroid at this point is the power of the people. As much as he wants control, it should not come at the expense of the planet he is controlling.

He dismantles the Alpha Army and scatters all of the blueprints related to all rockets ever made - from the Iron Giant to the Starmachine2000 - across the world by dropping them from space on the missiles he had left.

One month later the asteroid is just one hour from hitting Earth. The flurry of spaceships launching from across the world has made only 60% of the deflection necessary. Spiderboy stares up at the asteroid. A single tear falls down his face.

A massive spaceship bearing the Infinity insignia suddenly appears in the sky and begins concentrating high energy lasers onto the rock. It is diverted a minute later. A landing craft from the ship descends under a column of fire, landing at the door of Spiderboy's palace. The door opens and three figures emerge. They are The Steve, The Alex, and Bill the Villager. Wordlessly, Spiderboy and The Steve approach each other and shake hands. They speak a few minutes later.

"I am sorry for destroying your world."

"As I am sorry for destroying yours."

No other words are spoken. The trio board their ship. They return to the massive spaceship overhead and warp away, never to be seen by Earth again.

Phase 10 - The Final Frontier (An unfinished adventure map I made that I adapted for the final part of the storyline)

Forget everything I have said about the Pig's space program thus far, I was writing it wrong.

Back during The Infinite Cave, the Pig's space program had an orbital capable vehicle. They needed to test it however, so they used a human as a test subject. However, this vehicle was way more powerful than intended, sending the player into deep space, far away from Earth, where he crashes into an asteroid. Inside the asteroid he finds a crashed spaceship, massive, a dozen or more kilometers long. In this spaceship, he meets a pig named Sherry who says the ship is from the 2160's and it accidentally time travelled. Then an enderman kidnaps the pig and demands Project XC-1 as ransom.

The player is sent back to Earth in an escape pod. He finds the Infinity League who had built Project XC-1 (basically a lava reactor with the energy to destroy the planet). They agree to tell the Enderman false coordinates and then destroy the project. The Player launches back to the ship using a ship launched off of a roller coaster.

The Enderman releases Sherry. The two then find the ship's central lava reactor, broken and overheating. The ship will explode in two hours tops. They find another pig named Professor X, a supergenius. The pig explains that the talking pigs were onboard the spaceship Infinity when it left Earth. They worked in tandem with the Humans as part of the Infinity League and eventually built their own spaceships. This one had failed and killed most of the people onboard.

In order to time travel back to the future, they needed a power source. Their lava reactor was broken, as mentioned before. They needed the functionality of the emergency warp generator, but it was protected by a rogue AI named Al. After completing a big parkour course, The Player switches Al off and regains control of the ship's systems. Professor X turns on the energy collectors and wants to time travel to the nearest sufficient source of energy to get back to their own time.

They do have enough energy left to jump 10 years, but not enough to get back to the 2160's. They decide to jump to 2020, where a massive surge of mystic energy is reported just above Earth. After the jump, they manage to dump the reactor (meaning no power but they won't explode) and fall to Earth for several weeks before trying to collect the particle wave.

They then notice a small missile streaking towards them. The missile then explodes, causing the ship stuck in the asteroid to jump back to its rightful time. This, unfortunately, releases a massive wave of memory mystic particles back onto the Earth below, obliterating the face of the Earth.

The Steve escapes on board the original Iron Giant Rocket.

...

It all loops back on itself.

Phase 11 - Happily Ever After

And the Earth prospered, colonized the planets and moons. The Infinity League, many billions of light years away, prospered as well, learning everything. And Spiderboy learned his lesson. He was able to forgive The Steve.

The End?

eight dead.

Our newspapers say that 6 died. But it's only one day after the incident, when lots of people still can't think clearly about it.

Anyway, today I wrote a short story about myself. It's about a situation I had in school today due to social anxiety disorder, how I felt during it and why I'm not happy with its outcome. A nice demonstration of how difficult and frustrating simple social interactions can become.  I won't share it, but I felt like I needed to write my experience with the disorder down.

It's slowly ruining my life, and I still have over 80 years if nothing goes "wrong".

@Delay Have you tried seeking therapy, or even just looking online for tips and helpful advice on how to minimize the effects? I get that you might not want to look into therapy, but you should give it a shot, unless you have more personal reasons for not going. I can't really relate since I'm outgoing by default, but I did have similar problems (still do, actually). Up until a few months ago, I had been homeschooling, for about 18 months, in a foreign country. I had zero friends and talked to no one but my parents, so I had an excessive amount of anxiety when I moved to Finland (where I currently reside) and entered a regular school with people in it. The amount of fear and borderline panic I felt upon facing other kids and talking probably wasn't close to what you might feel, but I think I can understand what you go through better than most. I used to speak fluent English, but now my speech has degraded, and I still have periods where I can't find the proper words, or where I simply cannot get them out of my mouth. Granted, that is more due to a lack of actual speaking, and less based on social anxiety, but.....well. (I also have the occasional spasm, for some reason....not sure if that's just me, though)

You have to remember that the emotion you feel is abnormal and controllable, and is irrational. Yes, I know that it doesn't simply work like that, that you can't simply swallow the anxiety and act normally, but I'm not saying you should do that. I'm not telling you to present a power point in front of a crowd or something. A large part of overcoming phobias starts small. If you have trouble starting conversations, then that's okay. If you literally cannot engage more than one person at one time without feeling extremely nervous or claustrophobic, then that's also okay. But if you truly want to overcome your fear, then you have to try...

....By starting small. Again, I'm not implying that it's easy and no big deal, but try. Something as simple as silently picking up a classmate's pencil as it falls to the floor beside you can lead to a small boost of courage and pride (at least for me, when I was still in my first few days out of homeschooling). I don't know the extent of the disorder you have though, so only you know what actions count as 'small.' What you have is an emotional restraint, and not something that will kill you if you try to break through. Talking won't kill you, and neither will social interaction. It might be terrifying, but if you start small and overcome the minor, seemingly insignificant challenges that nobody else notices, then you will eventually be able to dominate a good portion of your problems

(I hope I'm not being arrogant/dismissive with your feelings. I'm just trying to offer some advice, though I admit I have close to zero experience with actual disorders)

@Delay, @Earthlinger makes some good points, but to reiterate there are resources availabile to you out there, you’re not alone in this, and you do not have to suffer in a vacuum. Back in my day we didn’t, so I was just “that weird kid who never talked.” Still pretty much am. But today such challenges have names, and that means you can fight them.

I'm already in a therapy group, once a week. It has helped a bit, though that might just be a placebo, as in: "I'm now in a therapy, I should feel better now". It's just that I need an outlet for it every now and then. The frustration builds up over time, conflict after conflict.

As for powerpoint presentations: Unfortunately, that's one of my requirements in school. You must be able to hold a presentation in front of a class. Last year (I think at least) we had to give a presentation about some aspect of Australia. I picked the australian railway, informed myself about its history, current and future plans and its structure to the point where I could confidently hold the presentation.

I couldn't even stand up and go to the front. I wanted to, I just couldn't. However, the teacher allowed me to hold the presentation just in front of her, which worked. I got a 3 (=C) for it, but she told me that it could've easily been a 1 (=A) if I would hold it in front of the class. Now, one year later, I immediately get demotivated when I hear the word "presentation". I don't even want to research anything because I know I wouldn't be able to do it. That's partly what got my spanish grade down to a 4 (=D) this year.

Been there, sorta.  I failed my softmore English class because I refused to get up and do the 3 required presentations.  I barely managed to pass it again the next year by doing one of them.

Given the grading terms you're giving us, I'm assuming you're not in the US.  Here, that looks like it may be some kind of ADA violation at this point.  Not sure if you have something comparable.    Might be worth looking into, if you're diagnosed.

I think pretty much every school has them as a requirement :/ I get nervous too. Before homeschooling, I did them fine, but now I actually have to debate with the teacher so that I don't do a solo, and even then, I have to sit while talking because my leg starts trembling. (In group presentations, I'm usually the 'slide switcher' lol. So I sit in the teacher's swivel chair and speak from there).

It's good that you're doing therapy though. It might not help directly, but just talking with someone like you (or even just the therapist) can help share the problem.

Wait, that sounds dumb....she gave you a lower grade than you deserved simply because you didn't present in front of the class? There should be exceptions....

^^^^^^

What he they said. Also, @Delay, I realize it may be small comfort, but you’re doing the hardest part right now. Secondary/High School, I’m assuming? Once you get out into college and the real world, and can start setting some of your own rules, it gets easier. So get through this, and you can get through anything.

Rats, I can't find the link now... but this might interest my friend @ZooNamedGames as well, because it's closer to him than me...

Anyway, I read this afternoon some A-10 Warthogs are going to be our area (McDill AFB) for the next few weeks doing refueling maneuvers!!!  Man, I used to watch those all the time when I was in Germany.... There is no more BadS plane than a warthog!!!  I really hope they fly us over at least once!!!
