RIP Gene Cernan

Recommended Posts

OK, not the most appropriate forum as it's not directly KSP related, but...

I just realised I hadn't seen any mention on the forums or weekly notes about the recent passing of Gene Cernan, one of the few men, and the last (so far), who set foot on the moon.  So I thought it appropriate to give him a mention (apologies if it's there and I missed it).

His personal contribution to the history of space flight may not have been as high profile as some others, but it was no less important.

RIP Gene. My thanks and respect go to you,  your fellow astronauts, and the countless others that contributed in so many ways to the early manned space flights and the Apollo program in particular.

A sad loss.  :(

Already covered in a thread in Science & Spaceflight:

...locking this thread here, since 1. the other thread covers the topic, and 2. this topic isn't about KSP itself.
