The 'encrypted' image wasn't the IVA image, was it?

Also, I believe the reason some users can't see photo galleries is because of the restrictions placed upon the User Class 'Curious George'.

I'm starting to think that is the case also. Because when I clicked a link earlier in the thread to Nova's album. It gave me a 'access denied' error.

Oh well, a few more posts and I'll be out of Curious George rank. Been a long time lurker, finally started posting.

I can confirm as a Curious George that I was able to see the photos until (I'm assuming) the restrictions were put in place.

On an unrelated note, I can see what appear to be two artifacts on the surface of the most recent moon image which are probably just generated terrain, but you never know.

Apocalyptica602, that sometimes happens to me because of my custom Windows color scheme. It's really kind of weird and random; for example I can see single Imgur images, but not album images. If you've changed yours as well, try reverting to the default.

Is there a way to change class. Also i was able to see the gallery a few days ago and its only recently that it says i dont have permission.

Looks fine to me. But, there's a nice Suggestions subthread in the development section if you feel you must make one....

Wow, condecending much? This is the .17 DISCUSSION thread. Its for discussing the update, and thats what he was doing... discussing a picture that was posted in this topic by a dev. No need to be rude just because he has an opinion other then yours.

To be honest untitled is right, something does look off about the texture in that picutre. Perhaps its just the lighting or this perticular screenshot, but something doesn't seem quite right.

That gives me an idea! To keep with the realism-cartoony feel of KSP each planet is a different flavor of ice cream! And the gas giants are clouds of thick smoothies! When you can take samples on EVA's the Kerbal takes out an empty bucket of Ice Cream and fills it with the planet's sweet tasting soil!

Flavors: Mun = Rocky Road, Minmus = Mint, Eve = Raspberry, DesertPlanet = Strawberry, Meander = Kerbal Surprise (Ground up Kerbals :D)

Ground up Kerbals

Uh...

Um.. okay?

Red color from first nova picture look\'s awesome IHMO (if we drop saturation down it will be look\'s more dead and boring :P). Sometimes, first thought is the best one :)!

Just like Kerbal itself. Sigh i still miss the old beautiful vibrant Kerbal.

But everyone had to yell "amg cartoony" and it was changed to the dark gloomy post-apocalyptic Kerbal we have now.

The oceans are so dark that it's as if they are made out of oil and water, the land is so dark that it's like the plants had not enough chlorophyll to grow properly.

Old Kerbal, a vibrant living planet 0.jpg

New Kerbal, a dead husk http://s10.postimage.org/4d10tyui1/KSP_2012_07_17_16_45_12_59.png

I just wish the planet parameters will be moddable, at the very least the color balance of them. I'd do anything to get the old Kerbal colors back.

That's Your Opinion mate, I like Kerbal just the way it is, wait till we get better atmo shaders. As a note, the planet parameters are entirely to complicated to be mod-able.

Yea, I bet those will make the planet seem more exciting to travel around on and hopefully will cheer some people up.

Also, the new Kerbin seems fine to me, I didn't really care about the style of most planets anyways, I just love the game for it's physics, what you can do in it, and what there is to explore and discover. So what there is some planet you don't like. Doesn't mean you can't go to it just because of how it looks. So, think twice before saying that a planet 'omg looks too lame i won't go to it ever herp derp', and think about what you can do there, get a feel for the planet, and then you may just start liking it's style and go 'ooh, i like this planet i will setup base here and have millions of satellites!' because that's sort of what I did when I saw Minmus, but then I started to like it by flying to it. Just absorb this wall of text and go, "Really Skyro? Do you have to put up all this wall of text? I get what you are saying." because it may help you when they add planets you don't seem to like. This is directed specifically to all of you people who liked it before 0.14, when the shaders were added, and then hated/didn't like it at 0.14, when it hit.

Oh yeah, the color was changed in 0.14.

No don't worry. I wondered the same thing but I figured out Eve and Meander were the names of planets in an old diagram of his imagined KSP solar system. Nothing more, nothing less.

btw thats my first post c:

Nova did post pics of what people are calling eva and meander, one was a craft entering "eves" atmosphere and the other one was a kerbal on EVA and in the distance was "meander".

It's probably because of the way the normal map was made. If it exaggerates the lines then they appear wider than they really are.

Compare this, with little additive effect to the lines that separate the hull plating, to this that make the same lines look more like trenches around the plates.

On the ground it's fine, the problem is that as your altitude increases the color shifts to dark green and dark green-blue for the oceans, which makes no sense.

It's the terrain colors / shader itself that's odd, adding atmosphere shaders will only tint it all blue from orbit. It'll still be dark.

It's as if the Mün would become dark grey as your altitude increases.

I can't believe how awesome this is.

The atmosphere and lighting looks better than i expected.

I wonder if the 'set ship orbit' thing will be included in the game as a debug option; it would help a ton for putting huge space stations up in the air. We already have a debug panel with infinite fuel, infinite RCS, no crash damage, et cetera, so why not?

It's been said to be part of the debug tools, and will probably only be used for development, though it would be pretty neat.
