[1.12.3] Spectra Visual Compilation 1.6.2 "Horizons" (26th July 2022)

I have a strange problem with Spectra - the sea at Kerbin is mustard yellow, the sky gray/white, planets/moons with atmosphere are either invisible or black with bold white atmosphere. Everything without gas is rendered OK. I would assume a mistake by me, but I can't find it.....

I think that I have followed the instructions, I just left WindowShine out. And I had it running under 1.3.x - so no first time istall. For a final test I did a fresh install of KSP 1.4.5 and Spectra - nothing else.

This is my GameData folder:

Strange... it looks like you installed it with CKAN? Don't install with CKAN, it was added by a fan and not me so I can't guarantee its up to date. :/

Awesome mod. I was wondering if it possible to get this mod working with the Outer Planets Mod. I.e with some file sharing of Stock Visual Terrain mod, specifically for the Outer Planets clouds, and scatter configs. Or will it completely break the game?

Its worth a try I thank :) OPM only adds planets, it doesn't change the stock ones right? I'd try installing both and seeing what happens. Easy enough to remove Spectra from GameData anyways.

Well with regards to OPM and terrain textures, OPM already uses CTTP for its terrain textures and so utilizing SVT's would just been trading for taste rather than quality.

Very good point. That's probably a safer bet too.

No, all done by hand, I never used CKAN.

I got the zip file for Spectra fresh from Spacedock. Spectra-v1.1.7.zip, 393,393,540 bytes, MD5=c585a28bb6fd4b3a540f4d5d0200efc7

Your .url files don't work on Debian/Gnome3. So I opened them in a text editor, copied the URLs into my browser and used the download links there. Unzipped all the stuff and followed your instructions step for step.

Thanks for your work on this project!

(I'll try to post my images again, they don't work for me in the above post.)

I tried it and it worked, somewhat. As I used the Stock Visual Terrain mod and threw out anything that would change the stock planets and only left the stuff for the OPM mod. The clouds and everything appear, although it causes Scatterer to glitch out. I.e ocean waves don't display, sunrises/sets don't work, they turn white. Other than that it does work. Right now figuring out how to fix that

Huh... those screenshots look like a Scatterer bug. Can you try deleting it and seeing what happens? You're the first person I've seen trying to run Spectra on linux so I'm afraid I can't be of much help.

:O It works-ish! Yeah scatterer can be finicky when playing with the solar system. Spectra works without Scatterer though. What happens if you remove it?

Then it work very well. While I am not sure if it looks exactly like an normal installation it does look rather good. I don't know exactly about the gas giants the clouds don't seem to move as planed. The steps involve.
1. Deleting every file in the cloud configs, except for the OPM files, if you want Jool rings keep the Jool ring folder.
2. Delete all Scatterer config files in the Scatterer folder for all the stock planets. The Scatterer planets config file, I don't know about what it does I just removed all mentions of the Stock planets.
3. Open the could config files and rename the dependencies of SVT to Spectra
4: Don't touch the Textures folder
5. Then place all 3 folders into the Spectra folder.

Sorry: I cannot provide pictures yet, I don't have an imgur account.
PS: Also found out that Spectra does not work with KS3P, it causes all reflection to glitch and turn a bright purple. Look rather funny while doing an EVA.

Deleting the scatterer folder didn't work. But I made a fresh install w/o scatterer - and it worked. Looks a bit ugly, scatterer does nice things....... Adding scatterer killed it again.

Yeah I don't think Scatterer is compatible with Linux :( I should mention though that I don't run with Scatterer either to save some frames. Without it I can run at a solid count even with large crafts.

Do you have WindowShine installed? That might be the cause for the purple visors.

Scatterer is working with SVE - so it's not a Linux problem. And right, WindowShine caused the visor and window problems.

No, at first I though that too. But it appears even without WindowShine and with KS3P the purple visors still appear. In second note installing the updated shaders version for TextureReplacerReplaced does fix the Problem with WindowShine not working, but still doesn't allow KS3P without it having Purple Visors/Windows.

D: I'll look into that. Duna in particular I had trouble making Duna's atmosphere work with Scatterer so it has a few extra configs that I had to apply some custom ModuleManager strings to. Did you ever open up the Eve GUI and hit save? If you did it probably broke something.

Yes, I have done this before

Ah. Hitting save in the EVE Gui breaks Duna's configs. You'll need to remove the Spectra folder from GameData and drop in s replacement from a fresh download.

That looks normal. Watch the cinematic and compare. I like a more blue Duna, there was an old visual pack named 'Better Atmospheres' that I paid homeage to. :) If you don't like it though I can give you a new EVE config file and few steps to remove it.

By curiosity, as i've never installed a graphism overhaul mod, but this one looks nice:
1) is it easy to uninstall it without crash is I dislike how it looks ingame?
2) is it possible (easy) to adjust some settings?

Hey there!

Uninstalling is very easy. You just need to remove the Spectra from GameData and you can install any other pack. EnvironmentalVisualEnhancements, Kopernicus, and Scatterer are dependencies and you can remove them too if you don't want them.

Easy to adjust? It depends on what... either way you look at it you'll need some prier knowledge of .cfg files

Hi.

I seem to be having a strange issue with Spectra with terrain textures.

The first pic is from my science save. 2nd one is from sandbox.

Album https://imgur.com/a/Yt7PqsU will appear when post is submitted

Both are taken from roughly the same alititude like 1km difference. I'm guessing the sandbox pic is what Spectra is meant to look like. Both screenshots are from the same install just different saves so I'm not really sure what is causing the issue. Tried looking over the logs but not really sure what I'm looking for. Not a game breaking issue or anything but fps does seem to drop quite a bit and would be nice to have this mod in all its glory :D

Any help would be appreciated.

Edit: I can post the log in a few hours. Just thought i would ask first.
