The moon is actually an ancient death station with a poorly designed exhaust port. Unrealistic space fighters fly up, somehow aim their weapons into the exhaust vent, and blow the thing sky-high with special effects that are now considered mediocre. After that, all that's left is a small blue planet with large-headed green inhabitants whose sole ambition is space exploration; they haven't even built any cities on their planet due to their effort to fly to space and enjoy a mint ice cream cone.
