No idea. Kind of amazing. Maybe NASA will let Bigelow use the BEAM module for this purpose? Maybe they can send up a less autonomous version of the B330 and berth it to ISS?

They are supposed to launch on Vulcan (B330).

Dangit.

I was partially contemplating finding a way to get down there too.  This was the biggest reason I decided against it (that and I don't want to get on a plane).  I just know that if I planned a trip to see a launch, it would get moved and/or scrubbed on me.

I think Scott Manley did a video on that and it looks like the explosion starts above one of the SuperDraco pods.

My guess is a faulty piece of plumbing right where it connects to the engines.

I guess it was because of the KAS bug,

Poor Bill.

UK radio today reporting that tourist flights to the international space station were to be offered for £28,000. The news was lacking in detail, but that's insane. Even starship with a capacity 100 would struggle to loft a person into LEO for so little.

I read an article discussing it. It's $35,000 per night, but that doesn't include launch costs, sadly.

Quite right. @RCgothic, here's a good article. $35k (something something Pounds) is what NASA will be charging, but no word on launch costs yet. However, there is a tweet just above mentioning Bigelow has made deposits on up to 16 seats on Dragons, presumably for this very thing. IIRC they've also got deposits/interest on Starliner flights.

Is the $35k price specifically for tourists, or is it a general price for any non-government funded astronaut?

I'm fairly sure it's general stuff. I think that covers food, oxygen, water, and additional life expenses. I'm not exactly sure what I expected that number to be, but it seems both lower and higher than I expected.

I didn’t read the article, but I gather that’s the commercial “hotel” rate for visitors. After you pay for your taxi seat. I wonder if you get a discount if you BYO air.

I'd always wanted to see the inside of that thing! I was curious if they had an electromagnet set up inside to help hold it to the steel deck, or if it was just really dang heavy.

Psst... g8tvBKm.jpg%20

Why? It's a hotel personnel.
The chef cook, waitresses, hostesses, bartender(esse)s, bouncer(esse)s.
Also two parking boys valet parking specialists to park the spaceships.
And a butler.

It's a mini-bar prototype "The White Beam". For a bartender and two customers.

With a seat or standing?

Does it include a return ticket price, or it should be purchased additionally on board?

Yeah... It's 330k though, and I try not to post images over 60k for people on mobile! Maybe that's not such a big deal any more. It is pretty fun to stare at.

Anyone know if Radarsat C1, C2 C3 on Wednesday will be RTLS?  My Google-fu is failing me and neither Spaceflightnow or Everyday Astronaut pre-launch previews are telling.

Looking through the relevant NSF thread, it looks like the landing will be RTLS based on A: the FCC permits SpaceX have filed, and B: the roadblocks that are slated to go up.

Astronomy live did some nice observations of Starlink satellites and a simulation of their visibility from a couple of latitudes through the year.

That's a pretty large impact, especially if other constellations like that are launched. I'm kind of surprised that there isn't some kind of international governing body for this kind of thing, since it affects so many things.

Does SpaceX already have names for the new constellations?

What about their astrological meaning?

Is there a constellation named for Falcons yet? Otherwise, Tesla would work. The astrological significance would be constant change, of course. Sometimes radical change but usually just incremental.
