the Docking with ISS takes hours?

Yeah. Part of it is to make sure it doesn't go wrong, part of it has to do with not wanting to cover the station in thruster exhaust gasses.

I was joking :-)

I know, but given that science in KSP seems a whole lot easier than it is IRL, I think it's something missing from most of our imagination.

Also they'll mess about once they get at the one-before-last waypoint, just to make sure that all the manual stuff works as well. (probably ongoing / already done by now.)

Aren't there like something akin to trim tabs on the bottom of the screen ?

EDIT : It is the touchscreen ! This is really techy now...

These are the KSP forums, no joking allowed!

So the question has been raised. how does one pilot the capsule without a joystick?   Does anybody know what they will be doing?  Will they be furiously bashing the screens?

so what input style are they using?

They have controls for roll and translation on the touchscreen. Not sure if it is in the 12-hour buffer, but it has been shown in action at a few points in the webcast.

We need touchscreen support in KSP after this !

I was thinking that too. If it is possible to mod the game into multiplayer support, it should also be possible to write a app to control a craft on any device.

I believe there's already a mod that lets you transform your smartphone into a touch screen control for KSP.   I don't know how far along they got in development, but I know I had some interaction with them when they posted the OP.  Don't remember the details though.
