I'm so used (now) to seeing sooty SX rockets that I'm kinda enthralled by the brand new one they lifted at VBerg.

Really interesting how sooty it got from just one flight.  The glaring difference between the exposed surfaces and those masked by the landing legs was cool to see.

(Oddly, I'm getting a flash-back to seeing Star Wars for the first time, with dirty hard-used looking craft - which was a departure from the pristine look preceding SciFi craft used)

Agreed, plus the footage of the entry burn on that launch really makes it clear in what way it gets so sooty

Tried to see the latest Vandenburg launch with clear skies.

Didn't see anything from where I was haha. A friend said they saw the smoke trail, but they where few miles closer to where I'm at (I'm still like 100 miles away though).

Guess I'll need to either get closer, or only pay attention to night launches. Then again a noon launch is probably the brightest the day could get.

Was it just me, or did the landing burn look a little shaky on the way in?

They really need some sort of broadband, available everywhere on Earth so they have have better video. Maybe that Amazon thing will happen someday ;)

Was hard to tell cause the video quality was so poor.

Apparently 2 more Starlink launches in Feb.

I see three on nextspaceflight from LC49-A, plus a possible one from Vandemberg. Realistically, maybe two more from FL and one from Vandemberg? They've got time

It was rare that I caught any sign of VBerg rocket launches from LA.  (Freaky during the 80s).  I've actually seen more launches while on vacation in Fla.

Not sure why that is

Gawdam, I can already feel the vibrations in the ground from the hype engines spooling up. Who's got a seismograph to get a reading on this?

I have but the data is a bit shaky.
