According to Eric Berger at ars technica, various cities with space industry (including my own, though I only ever see the Sunday newspaper, and missed it) have had a number of shady anti-SpaceX editorials. They were written by an old Apollo technician, supposedly, but Berger contacted him in TN, and he didn't write them. Two other guys wrote them and used his name to fraudulently submit them. They have a number of errors in them that likely anyone who keeps up with spaceflight here on this forum would spot very quickly. The fact they felt the need to publish it under a false name is obviously telling.

Turns out they are written by a DC PR firm that lists Boeing as one of it's clients. (that's the only link to Boeing but they were written by a PR firm).

Not surprised at all, seeing how Boeing is promoting SLS as a "Boeing rocket" and CST-100 as the only American independent way to get humans to the International Space Station.

Quote

The Space Launch System (SLS) will be the most powerful rocket ever built. Through a partnership with NASA, Boeing will launch the SLS in 2019, officially marking a new era of deep space exploration.

The 2019 launch, known as Exploration Mission 1, will be the first critical test for human exploration of deep space – and the first step on the larger path to Mars.

The drive to explore is an essential element of human nature. It’s natural for humans to be curious about what lies beyond the horizon. Boeing is turning curiosity into action and forging a path to explore Mars.

With the SLS, Boeing is at the forefront of the modern-day space race.

I never thought that by bringing the space race to the US, we were also bringing the cloaks and daggers of the Cold War.
