What is that ring shaped debris at the engine after every sep?

It’s a stiffener for the engine bell until it’s running. I hear it’s so flimsy you could seriously damage it with a hammer on the ground. Once the engine is burning, the bell sort of “inflates” and the pressure holds it rigid.

Bullseye!

Was it just me or was that like the slowest landing ever?

Doesn’t this mission have silly margins because TESS is so small?

perhaps they just burned single engine to land for longer at lower throttle?

also are they recovering fairings? Or at least landing them?

I am not sure about recovery but if you put the stream at -13:50 and look at the 1st stage cam i swear i can see one half fairing falling down through the sky...

edit: sorry not sure about the time in the stream because its still running but its right after she says something about the turbo pump still running good..

edit2: It's at T+ 6:13 mission time...

Yeah, I also noticed that. As @Jaff said, it probably had a lot of fuel since the payload is >1mT.

Effing mobile version of the forum doesn't allow me to delete accidental quote.

I think you could damage that thing with a good punch.
