So there wasn't a livestream this time? Disappointing, I was waiting for one and missed it.

But hey! Starhopper hopped! :D

So, I guess we can officially say raptor is the highest chamber pressure engine to ever fly now...

Is anybody else vibrating with excitement?

Oooooooooooh... aaahhhhhhhhhh.....

Ahah, now it’s obvious why they translated... if they’d gone just straight up and down, they would hit the umbilical stack. ^_^

That's a lot of fire. And smoke. I don't want to be a bad prophet, but environmentalists will not be happy :/

Then send them to Mars.

Just kidding. SpaceX probably has to adhere to stricts rules regarding pollutants, and CO2 is a much tamer greenhouse gas than methane

Oh, wow. It actually flew. Tbh, I was a bit skeptical this whole time seeing all the failures and delays.

I'm really glad I was proven wrong.

According to all known laws of spaceflight, there is no way that a water tower should be able to fly. Its manufacturing technique is too questionable to get its itself off the ground. The water tower, of course, flies anyways. Because water tanks don't care what humans think is impossible.

The reason why environmentalists mostly ignore rocket launches is that, in the big picture, there are very few of them. Somewhat ironically, the goal of the commercial space business is, in effect, to increase their launches to a sufficient rate that people start complaining about them.

Do the propellant tanks on the Starhopper use autogenous pressurization?

Is the Raptor bell overexpanded?

You're being confused by the fisheye lens- the exaust is further from the camera than the nozzle is, which makes it look smaller and overexpanded.
