Hey there!

I know this probably isn't the best place for this question but I only get this issue with Astronomer's.

Using reflections with TextureReplacer, only a portion of the clouds show up.

I'm not sure how reflections work in KSP, or how they interact with the game.

Is there some atmospheric FOV setting that the shader involved in cloud rendering uses in Astronomer's maybe? Limiting reflection FOV render range for performance?

Maybe these reflections for Astronomer's are just loaded through Scatterer and the problem might actually lie with some setting in there?

Any ideas at all would be really appreciated while I try to figure out a fix.

Thanks so much!

I can't help you with your question, but maybe you could help me with mine.  Do you have a pink square appearing on or around your rocket as you launch it?  Once the rocket reaches a certain height, the square flies off.

Sorry for the late reply.

I'm not sure what you mean. Could you provide an imgur video clip or screenshot link?

Maybe I could help you out better that way.

I remember something like that happening to me as well, IIRC it was the airships mod or hooligan labs airships

@themaster401your mod is a heaven-sent! It just not only surpassed 100+ upvotes on KSP subreddit but it also gets noticed by the KSP twitter account!
You don't know how much I prioritize this mod! :)

Below is the most popular pic I've ever posted and w/ AVP of course! RYQ3TE3.png

Quick question. I have AVS installed along with Parallax but it appears that they're conflicting with one another on Kerbin with the city lights. Is there anyway to fix this issue without removing the city lights or Parallax?

Make it into a mod-pack. There is a folder you can add your own images to make your own custom loading screens. This would be an easy thing to set up. :)

Hey I've installed AVP with CKAN and I haven't got any AVP features (clouds, aurora etc.) showing up, anyone else have this issue with CKAN?

I reinstalled it today and all is working fine for me (KSP 1.12). Check if all dependencies are installed correctly (Module manager, EVE and Scatterer)

Completely random question - would it be at all possible to get a release which only has the OPM visuals and not the stock planet ones, for when u are using OPM with a non-stock planetary system? In the past I've done it by just deleting files and seeing what works, but it'd be nice to have an officially supported way to do it.

I've been having an issue with scatterer and opm, where the atmospheric haze around Thatmo will disappear past a certain threshold (about 300km).

screenshot253.png

screenshot254.png

Testing showed that it was AVP causing this behavior, but poking around in the Thatmo Atmo (heh) cfg hasn't been super productive, since I can't tell what most of the variables actually control. I'm including that cfg if anyone wants to take a look at it and see what dials I need to turn to stop this from happening.

Thatmo was the biggest issue i found with AVP about a year ago. If i recall i looked at the surface of thatmo with AVP and the textures weren't rended properly at all and it was basically blank. I had to create a mutant combination of AVP, EVE, SVE and scatterer to get it to work.

Hello,

I'm trying to get this set up with OPM and I think I'm having a weird issue with Neidon that I can't resolve. It looks mostly green like Jool rather than a nice purple as it appears in the screenshot in the first post (at least, I'm pretty sure that's Neidon).

Anybody else encountering this or have a fix? Apologies in advance if I've messed something up. I've tried uninstalling all mods and reinstalling, I've also tried switching from 8k textures down to 4k and the issue persists.

Mod list:

I don't see Scatterer (make sure to download version 0.7......, not version 0.8....) in that list, although I doubt that will be the cause of this issue.

Hola!

I'm having a really bad time with AVP, scatterer, and EVE. I have tried everything I know, including deleting Kopernicus+OPM (where this all started.......) and even going to do a fresh install.

So, the problem is that the clouds are inverse and black at and the sky is white at the nighttime side of Kerbin and the terminator is blue... also Jool and the other atmospheric planets look very strange.

Thanks SOOO much for your help, I have been trying to fix this for more than a week.

P.S. I also have the bug with C.K.A.N...

I did have Scatterer, not sure why that didn't show up on the CKAN export or if I managed to clip it out from somehow...

Anyway, long story short, rolling back Scatterer to 0.7 seems to have fixed it. Neidon is now purple, Tekto is now teal (was purple earlier). I had to do a little bit of fiddling with AVP/EVE reinstall, but I think that was just due to fumbling with CKAN on the scatterer removal. It looks good now!

Many thanks!

This mod is so gorgeous that I refuse to play KSP without it. Even though it absolutely murders my FPS.

I tried the 43k clouds and while they look amazing for screenshots, I found they cover too much sky for gameplay purposes. When above the clouds, I can barely see anything of Kerbin below. I like the distribution of the 8k clouds much more.

Is there a possibility of essentially turning the 8k clouds into higher resolution 43k clouds, but with the same pattern, density and distribution?

I love this mod and the only thing bothering me was that the original cloud config for Kerbin has the volumetric "popping" in very abruptly.

Anyone else had this?

In case yes my config is shared in the spoiler below. I made the transition smoother while trying to preserve the thick cloud layer. It works ok for me from a performance perspective together with EVE redux.

To use it open the clouds.cfg located in \GameData\AstronomersVisualPack\AVP_Configs\Stock with an editor and replace the object named Kerbin-MainClouds with the config below (it is probably the first object in the file). Make sure you do copy/replace all the brackets as well.

I would love to hear something about this as well. I'd love to keep both aspects, but if I had to axe the lights, I'm OK with this. Of course, I'd have to know how to do that...

EDIT: Took a look at the Parallax thread and this was reported there as well. According to those posts, this is a hard incompatibility - in short, the cities can't be rendered properly on the parallax terrain, so this really is a case of one or the other, unfortunately. I chose to keep the cities, as there are some terrain following issues that happen with Parallax installed as well.
