Is using the closer node on the heatshield fairing part clipping?

Just wondering because I heard they made it on purpose.

part clipping is such an ugly term. I prefer to think of it as part integration or synergistic part pairing.

No, it's designed to be used by those of us that hate the heat shield fairing. (i.e. the smart ones)

If it blows up your vessel, it's a bug.
