Congratulations, have a shiny badge!

Now, onto the next week's plane.

Week 2:

Class: Military Vehicle Transport

You are to design a Aircraft capable of transporting and air-dropping the new GUA-1 Anti-Air Artillery Rover to the KSC2. (The rover can fit in a MK3 Cargo bay) It should be able to take off before the third set of white stripes on the runway, and land in about the same distance. it must also have at least one weapon hardpoint.

Pics and download of the rover:

Weight: maximum 80 tons (not including rover)

Speed: No minimum

Payload: at least one GAU-1 Rover, and at least one weapon hardpoint

Range: at least able to reach KSC2

Crew: at least 2

i'll actually do the assignment in time this week, I promise!

Wow, strangely similar to my original C-1 before changing to a Mk3 cockpit. I deleted the prototype, but here's the thumbnail.

it doesn't look like you're airdropping the right rover though.

Yup, that's a plane made for Hatbat's series aidropping the ATH-105.

I'm currently working on my airdrop system for your vehicle.

I have a problem with the download of the rover

@MiffedStarfish Can you provide a KerbalX link?

Also, can I use KSP 1.3 ?

Could you clarify a bit on that problem? And any version is fine.

Damn I'm late! I'll join (again) :P

Also could I edit the rover a touch? If you want extra info I will PM you :D

If you don't make it smaller or lighter, then ok. (PMing might be a good idea)

Unfortunately I'm using Kerbalism so craft (the missiles) need a separate antenna to function

You won't actually need to fire the missiles at any point, so it probably doesn't matter.

Here's my entry, the C-2 Albatros

Spoiler

Aidropping the GUA-1 using a rocket system. The plane carries two of them.

Landing distance if the plane touches the start of the runway. Take-off distance is just before the third set of strips.

The download is a bit different since I added extra tanks. 1 toggles flaps, 3 toggles thrust reverser and 5 toggles the cargo bay. Dropping is done by staging.

In the assignment, you will have to pick one up as well, so I would reccomend everyone uses docking ports.

Done, updated the craft. It now uses a clamping port to grab the first rover and drops the second by the back door.

When dropped, the rover falls at just over a 90 degree angle.

Edit: Anyways, I'm finalising my design now: 0HFcI2X.jpgThe engines need to spool up before the brakes are released, but it can take off just before the second/third set of stripes (not sure if you are including the different-looking ones)
