How to conveniently balance VTOL engines?

Question

So I finished a 17,000 ton flying battleship, and I want to fit VTOL engines on it for operational flexibility. One way to make sure the position of the VTOL engines are balanced is by manually exiting and entering the hangar like a caveman, moving the engines around until the ship takes off perfectly vertically.

That's the way I balanced the engines for my first two VTOL crafts, but this 300+ part craft lags my computer enough that repeatedly entering and exiting the hangar eventually causes the game to crash.

My question is: Is there a more convenient way to make sure the VTOL engines are positioned correctly?

RCS Build Aid all the way. Not 1.3 compatible yet though, AFAIK.

You could also use TCA:

Doesn't look like it's updated for 1.3 yet, however.

I've had a bit of luck using KER and balancing the engine torque to near zero and/or adding SAS units to compensate.

Com and cot markers.  But you need to thrust limit your flying engines to get a true reading for your vtol engines.  They need to be matched and your mass should not shift due to fuel usage our you'll have a hard time landing.
