This is my first suggestion, and it has to do with probes collecting surface samples. I suggest you make the KLAW-S2 as a rover arm that has a science operation similar to a surface sample. For example, collecting a sample of Minimus would be:

"The material is frozen and fluffy, probably would make good snow cones."

What it looks like? Well sort of like this:

This would be it's product description.

"After years of playing at an arcade claw machine, we have finally made the best grabbing machine ever! Warranty void if it actually is from a claw machine."

In general, a canada arm like thing could be cool. Actually also really useful.

This seems more like a small surface experiment. I guess that's what you are proposing, right?

Yes, that is what I was proposing. All though I now think about it, the KLAW S-2 can be multi-purpose. You can have it be a science experiment when on a surface, but can be extended and armed in all environments!

Why is my first reaction to the picture let's make a crab probe.......

Also cool idea now I don't have to strand a kerbal to get a surface sample.

Well that would make Kerbals even more useless. Why even bother with manned missions then?
