How do I get banners?

Pretty self-explanatory; how do I get those beautiful badges/banners?

In what sense? Like the ones in the forum signatures?

AFAIK, KSP doesn't really have a badge/banner system, so I'm not sure what you are talking about..

Depends,  some are rewards for completing some challenge others are links to some site and other are just something the poster think is cool. 

Which one are you interested in?

And some are ribbons that you "build" for yourself to show what KSP achievements you've accomplished.

I'm pretty sure that you use the little paper clips to the left of the emoji tab.

Nevermind, I figured it out about a week ago - you double click on and image, and that pens an interface where you can implement a link.
