Space too cold, looking for a mod

Recommended Posts

I'm thinking about the rad flux, is Kerbol too cold? The radiators are obsolete unless you're designing with NERV engines or drilling some space rock. Even on the surface of Moho there's mild overheating on the most sensitive parts.

Is there a mod that makes rover wheels/batteries/probe cores/electronics in general run hotter?

Not that I'm aware of, but you could edit the configs your self or write a Module Manager patch to achieve this.

I'm not sure about a mod, but if you go into settings, I'm fairly certain there's a slider for overheating temperature, slide all the up and you should have he desired effect.

Starwaster just released two dev versions 7.6.0  One is for 1.3 if that is needed.  This mod is part of the Realism Overhaul required mods.

Deadly Reentry did that in the past, and I think now too.

DRE relies on the stock heat slider now.

If you are playing in a stock sized system, remember that the delta-v required to transfer is much much lower than it would be in reality, so engines won't burn as long or get as hot. I actually don't know if the stock heating slider changes all heating effects or just reentry effects, but I'd recommend a setting of at least 120% to start with.
