Game constantly crashes on loading screen, cant play

Recommended Posts

Hi guys,

Ive been using 1.2 for a long time, never had any crashes etc.... I had and I have around 2 gigs of mods, but I wanted to have B9 procedural wings installed, because I saw great ww2 plane models made in that mod, tho i had something procedural stuff already installed..

Nevermind,.. Since I installed the B9 one for 1.3 I cant play the game.

Tried running it with openGL , with DX11 , no difference. Allways crashing...

Please help!

So you run KSP 1.2 with a mod for 1.3?

Retro-compatibility is not a thing for KSP mods, unless you're very lucky, your mod isn't going to work.

There's nothing to do other than using the 1.2 version of your mod or updating KSP to 1.3.

Firstly, make sure that you have installed the mod correctly. Often installations that haven't been installed correctly can have missing parts or sounds, cause crashes, or even break the game. Secondly, is your B9 mod updated for version 1.3? Most mods haven't yet, and so many people are reporting that everything worked fine in 1.2, but when they updated to 1.3, the game started glitching or crashing most of the time.

My third suggestion is that when you are updating to the newest KSP version, is that you should ALWAYS uninstall ALL mods, addons and plugins, and then once the game has updated to the latest version, then reinstall them. What I like to do is uninstall every mod and addon, update to the newest game version, and then check if the mods have a 1.3 compatibility update. Download the 1.3 version (if there is one for your mods), and then install them.

Hope this helps, TCIS.

My third suggestion is to install Active Texture Management. It really speeds up the loading time of the game, and can actually bugfix some mods, and have a massive performance and framerate increase. I thought ATM hadn't been updated since 1.0, since much of its functionality was rendered redundant by improvements to how KSP loaded textures.

The mod is long uninstalled, that was my first thing after the error became obvious. Still no effect.  Tho the modloader appears to be wierdy, saying something like 365 stuff have been loaded from cache, and a little bit later after loading up some more stuff the game crashes.

Im using game version 1.2, havent updated, and dont even want to, because of my mods being most for 1.1.2, and they work fine with 1.2, therefore I dont have the need for anything newer.

OK, sorry I didn't get that your removed it.

In this case since you have a lot of mods we need more information. Please read the thread that Starman linked a few posts above and upload the relevant logs.

Please don't spread misinformation like this. ATM hasn't been updated in 2 years and is 90% redundant due to Squads fixes in KSP 1.0

Cant find my log files, the ones you need, I think the modloader has some cache stuff left from that ProceduralWings B9 mod wich rekt my whole game, and once near the end of my loading screen it says 365 entries loaded from cache, Im certain that the modloader is the reason why i cant get to the menu with my precious mods.

My mods list: Airplane plus, 77industries, BDArmory, BD vessel Switcher, AviatorArsenal, BD FPS weapons, CAL, ChannelMarkerGreen, CommunityCategoryKit, CommunityResourcePack, Firespitter, FSHangarExtender, HLAirships, ImprovedChaseCamera, KAX, KerbalCities, Kerbal Foundries, Kerbinside, Kerbaltek, KerbalKonstrukts, KerbalJointReinsforcement,  KIS, KSPWheel, LshipParts x3, MaritimePack, MPUtils, NAS, Oldschool Turrets, SM_Marine, SM_Static, another VesselMover lol, Wildblueindustries, and at last around 6 files from Modmanager, most of them cache files or md ones, I even have a physics file lying over there.

Open those logs, search for "1.3" and you will see a few of your mods like KIS that are already too new for your version. And there are probably a few more that don't tell MiniAVC what version they want to see. You need to install the mod vesions that were made specifically for 1.2.x.

And you might want to upgrade your game to at least 1.2.2 if that is possible with the GOG release.
