Hey guys I was wondering do the KSP game developers ever use any of the ideas put forward in this forum?

Yes. Tons of mods/suggestions have been incorporated into KSP. However, the devs won't comment on anything because NDA and people get mad when devs say they want to do something and then they change their minds or find out it's harder to do then they thought.

Certainly it's the case that folks at Squad do read the forums.  This forum is here for a reason, and it's not just "give people a place to vent". 

It's also the case that things that have been suggested here have ended up getting incorporated in some fashion into the stock game.

However, attributing causality can be tricky-- i.e. just because they added feature X, and someone happened to suggest that feature here at some time before that... there's not really any way to know whether they added it because of the suggestion, or whether they would have added it anyway and it's just a case of great minds thinking alike.  Or maybe they were thinking of adding it already, and seeing enthusiastic player chatter about it might tip the scales in its favor.  Who knows?  They don't publicly discuss their reasons or inspirations for adding this or that feature, as @TheRagingIrishman mentions above.

Bear in mind that lots of things get suggested here-- some great ideas, some not-so-great ones, and everything in between.  (And different people have very different opinions about what's a great idea.)    Just about any feature that the devs may add or consider adding to the game, there's a pretty good chance that someone already suggested it at that point, simply because there are so many of us here in the forums.

So, if your question is "have they added features that someone happened to previously mention here", the answer is a definite yes.  If your question is "have they added features as a result of someone mentioning it here", there's no way for us to know, and probably never will be.

However... they do read these forums, so if you have a great idea, definitely post it.  Can't hurt.

I know they added at least one suggestion put on the forums:

They have also removed things or changed plans due to the forums.

 

There was something about changing a certain fuel tank, and a certain set of buildings that were both withdrawn after the forum raised a mighty army of angry commoners comments.  The later still has the potential to get people heated.
