KSP crashes on return to the Space Centre.

Recommended Posts

So this seeme to be a fairly common problem, i get it every single time i play, and its a bit tedious. there are lots of requests for help and very few constructive answers, for my part i have had the same issues now since 1.1 and cant figure out what is causing the crashes, i know some of the mods are out of date, but at some point or another they where up to date so could someone please tell me whats actually wrong here, or how to interpret the crash file?

KSP: 1,3 64bit on Windows 10

Problem: return or recovery crashes the game to desktop after a few returns, usually 4

I can tell you right now, that you are running at least one mod which is not updated.

It also appears that you may have two copies of the Mark IV Spaceplane mod installed (both of which are marked as for 1.2.2 only)

You have something which is spamming your log with Dynamic Battery Storage messages

Ill try pulling them out and seeing whats up, i know their out of date but they seem to work fine, and i was getting the same crashes in 1.2.2 when they where at the correct version....

@Nertea that dbs error might help you in bug checking, i doubt thats causing my crashes because its only been on a week

@linuxgurugamer thanks for the help! Ill see what i find.

So no luck so far with pulling mods, however im sure although this is caused by a mod, its a game issue, because jumping between craft has no problem only returning to the space centre. that and its a bug thats been present since 1.1 at least

So now take out all mods, then add them back in, a few at a time

i wish i could but testing stability takes about 40 minutes to get a crash including the loading screens, then adding and repeating. your talking about 9 or 10 days worth of testing for my modlist, and thats alot of time i was hoping using the log files someone could help me read them and tell me what im looking for because i got these types of crashes in previous versions where iw as using almost no similar mods, i was more mks based.

theres alot of errors in the main logfile, and the crash dump seems to suggest theres a memory allocation error

the reason im trying to avoid mod deletion at the moment is im trying to get my next video out on my persistant save, so that causes even more issues finding parts and re organising save files.

I have a loose suspicion its something to do with one of the community backbones, like @RoverDude's crp, or  @allista's utils because ive had them the longest while almose all the other mods have changed at some point. I just cant figure iut what im looking at in the logs.

It has to be a weird conflict too because its common enough to see other people have had the problem, but not enough that anyone has an answer....

i shall keep looking and posting logs every time it crashes, but at the monent i make a point of only playing one launch at a time because of rebooting after a crash.

Thanks @linuxgurugamer for your help!
