[0.16.0] Hacky Fuel Consumption Bug Fix

A hacky solution to fix the fuel consumption bug in 0.16.0.

A new module (creatively named LiquidFuelEngineFix), based on the LiquidFuelEngine module, fixes the fuel consumption bug.

The Isp values of an engine are multiplied by the throttle percentage to correct for the lower fuel consumption at low throttle settings.

Simply change the module type of an engine from LiquidFuelEngine to LiquidFuelEngineFix. Zip file contains changed and unchanged engine types for stock.

Note: The fuel consumption and Isp values obtained when right clicking an engine displays the uncorrected values.

Sigh, now that I found this I feel that I have to play with the bug fixed... Just when I thought my ships were all awesome I am forced to nerf them! Its all your fault! ;)

Your ships will lose their awesomeness when you realize in .17 that they don't have the Delta-V to get to orbit. I personally recommend you build your rockets to have about 5,000m/s Delta-V for a Kerbin Orbit Mission.

So this bug fix will be great for you. I'm personally really glad someone fixed that annoying bug.

I totally agree about fixing the bug, just frustrated that I didn't find out about it till after all my ships were designed! I had to go back to vanilla to trouble shoot some bugs and it felt like I had a cheat mode turned on, my ships were so overpowered without this fix! :)

I had the same issue.

Problem: I copied all subdirectories from the "Parts" directory in the fuel fix over to the "Parts" directory in KSP. Doing that, I replaced all subdirectories in there with the ones from the fix. However, the fix only supplies the changed "part.cfg" files, so by replacing the whole directories I accidentally deleted all the other stuff in there. Without all that stuff, KSP freezes on startup at "liquidEngine" without any error message.

Solution: Replace only the "part.cfg" files in the directories instead of the whole directories.

Hi, was just trying to install this mod using WinRAR to extract the .cfg files into the relevant parts folders. I've tried several different ways of doing it, and each time the game either stops loading at liquid engine on the loading screen, or when I go to the VAB or SPH the engines with the edited .cfg files are "not available in this version of KSP". I'm extracting the parts folders into the "parts" folder in "ksp_win" (which is my KSP folder), and I'm extracting the plugin .dll file into the Plugins folder. IS this right? Can we get an install guide?

Thanks

EDIT: Tried moving the plugin .dll file from the Plugin directory to the PluginData directory with no luck. This is what I'm seeing:

EDIT 2: Got it to work. Restored my backup and tried again, just put the plugin .dll into the Plugin directory and just did it all the regular way, which didn't work before, but for some reason this time it seems to have worked. I ran KSP as administrator though.
