I decided to try realism overhaul, and my game is crashing as soon as it finishes loading.  I am not sure what is causing it.

I'm not sure why this doesn't crash on the loading page... win32 only gives access to so much memory. Try running in win64. If this doesn't work, try uninstalling some mods and download a texture compressor. Also make sure RSS textures are no more than the middle option 4000 by 2000 I think.

Clearly both of you have not bothered to look at the error.log. I've marked it in red for you. He IS using the 64bit version with plenty of RAM.
Yes, crashes like this are more often than not memory related but I do not believe this is one of them.
