A rescue gone wrong!

When I started my first 1.2 save. I loaded up Kerbal X to send the original 3 to the Mun. However, I landed a bit too hard and lost my engine, stranding our beloved Jeb and co. I then send a ssto that I downloaded (Thanks, Matt Lowne!) To save them. The ssto lands ok, but no where near the Kerbal X. No worries. The ssto came with a rover. I could drive to the crash site! Or so I think. I roll the rover, breaking the solar panel. With the mission considered a failure, I pack up to leave. However. As I lift the nose into the air, I lose a NERV. I set the crippled SSTO down and groan in frustration. So I download KIS and set up a repair ship carrying an extra NERV, to be attached to the SSTO. Upon landing the resupply, Surprise! The command pod pops off. After some KIS config editing. I have Dangas kerman, aka. Arnold Kermanagger carry the nerv in his inventory and attach the engine. I then load the resupply crew into the SSTO and we leave. I send a rescue vessel, equipped with Mechjeb, to the still disabled lander. For once. I land with no problems. I load Jeb an co into the vessel. And our orange suited friends are home after 3 weeks kerbal time.

Sounds about right

I've always found the rescue mission created due to my own personal failures to be the most fullfilling part of Ksp.

Well done!

Well. For the most part, the rescue attempts themselves were failures

If you want something which will give you a REAL reason to rescue some kerbals, look up BARIS(Building A Rocket Isn't Simple) It does part failure more accurately than any other mod I have installed. But remember, when things break, its often fatal:/.
