Setting a target

Hi guys, Im just starting playing this amazing game, but Im in career mode, my mission is orbit the Mun. I've watched several videos about it, but I think I have an input control issue: I can not set the Mun as a target to perform the orbit calculations. I used right and left click, and tried all the possible ways! I also cant add a nod in my orbit to perform a maneuver! I realized in the videos that the orbit was in a blue line, mine here is a white line. Thaks for the help!!!

If you are playing Career mode you need to upgrade your Mission Control Center and your Tracking Center to level 2 each in order to make maneuver nodes in map view.

The good thing is, they are both pretty cheap to upgrade.

If your line is white, most likely you're not in control of the ship: you're either viewing it on the Tracking Station interface, which shows all current flights but doesn't control them, or you're controlling a different ship, and have your map focused on the ship you think  you are controlling

Also, in career mode, you can't create maneuver nodes without first upgrading the Tracking Station and the Mission Control buildings to lvl 2 at least. It's possible to either get the money to upgrade those before reaching the Mun, or to reach the Mun without maneuvers. Look for the Caveman Challenge here on the forums, see how other pilots did it.

A cheap and dirty way to get to the mun is to burn at about a roughly 90 degree angle. So when burning, burn about here. Excuse crappy image stuff.

Its not super accurate, but close enough.

Also if you are in an orbit below about 150km burn prograde when the moon is rising. Keep burning until the apoapsis is the altitude of the Mun. Where you are going you don't need nodes!
