Presenting the all new Storm Mk2, a light weight, compact aircraft that combines high performance with extremely agile handling.

With a frontal area about the same size as a sparrow this new model can squeeze out over 800m/s at sea level (dry) and a very respectable Mach 3.05 (1075m/s) using the afterburner.

Like it's predecessor it can happily circumnavigate Kerbin at 15,000m with plenty of fuel to spare.

Depending on the pilot's whims It can either be a pliant, high altitude cruiser or a tree scraping, 100g pulling lunatic machine! :D

This new model features a whole laundry list of improvements over the original version including a more spacious cockpit, reduced weight (under 3t), more efficient aerodynamics, better landing gear placement (for easier takeoffs) and vastly improved handling.

The biggest change is the removal of the shock cone from the rear of the aircraft. This has allowed the engine to be placed further back, meaning the control surfaces can be pulled out and to the rear of the aircraft for more torque.

Like the Vortex Mk2 the center of lift is slightly in front of the center of mass for more spirited handling, so much so that one of the two reaction wheels has been removed from the design. The new cockpit layout allows easier entry/exit while the cockpit doors can now be left open for takeoffs/landings. Like almost all my designs the center of mass/lift is static under all fuel loads.

CONTROLS:

1 - Toggle Main Engine

2 - Switch Engine Modes

9 - Toggle Engine Gimbal

0 - Toggle Cockpit Doors/Air Brake

RECOMMENDED MOD:

OWNERS MANUAL:

Due to the high maneuverability of the design a Joystick is highly recommended!

For normal day to day cruising you can disable the control surfaces and rely on the engine gimbal for a more gentle ride.

By default the engine gimbal deactivates when using the afterburner as leaving it on makes the craft so agile it borders on ridiculous. Saying that if you do have a death wish the gimbal can be toggled manually by pressing 9.

Deploy the landing gear to help slow the craft down at high speeds and use the cockpit doors as an airbrake at med/low speeds.

Have fun! :)
