Three small, rocky planets have been detected around the red dwarf YZ Ceti about 12 light-years away. It is a 0.16 solar radius flare star less than 2 light-years from Tau Ceti. Radial velocity observations confirmed three planets with orbital periods of 1.97, 3.06, and 4.66 days. A fourth planet orbiting every 1.04 days may also exist. The three confirmed planets are the lightest worlds found by radial velocity, with masses of 0.75, 0.98, and 1.14 ME, with the extra candidate being around 0.472 ME. Unfortunately, none of these worlds reside within their star's habitable zone, but this may turn out to be a system similar to TRAPPIST-1, with at least half a dozen planets in a resonant chain.
