Your questions were contradictory.  I answered the second.  The Mun's orbit is not inclined.

As has been pointed out , yes, the Mun's orbit is exactly perfectly equatorial, with zero inclination.  Therefore, the easy way to know if one of your ships is in an equatorial orbit is to just set the Mun as your target, launch due eastwards as usual, and then burn at DN or at AN to get perfectly coplanar.
