Doesn't sound like they are too happy with his performance, then. Receiving a post in an active warzone is hardly a promotion over a cushy administration position of a prestigious state agency. It's almost as if they want to set him up for a fall, to put it like that ...

Well, it is a promotion for Borisov (exact same career track as Rogozin). And there's been plenty of officials yanked from regions and either appointed with LDNR or working as part of 'military-civilian administrations' in non-LDNR areas.

Meanwhile, rumor mill says Rogozin will get overall control as the Presidential Representative for the hitherto-unnamed new ninth federal district.

Not looking great for the unnamed district

Huh, I guess some experience with rocketry would be nice to have, in a position so exposed to their receiving end. Seems to me that they're looking to send somebody "high up" for the prestige of the position, but not somebody indispensable, in case things go sour for the person in question.

Gotta wonder if Rogozin wants the position (having spouted the government line so much he might actually believe himself to be safe) or if he simply doesn't have the clout to negotiate his way out of it.

Probably, an active phase of spacetech development begins, so the Vice-Premier with mil/tech/glonass background  becomes the space chief.

The previous one (with journalist / PR background) who was successfully ruling in the stand-by phase, leaves the post, and has been promoted to the March District governor.

Spoiler

Btw, about the "unnamed districts".

District 13 was graphite (i.e. carbon) mining.

(Obviously, it's a promotion.)

Roscosmos and NASA have signed the cross-flight agreement.

Spoiler

If one party needs assistance in presence of at least one NASA or Roscosmos spacenaut on board of ISS, the other party will deliver them by their ship.

The main crew of the Crew Dragon manned spacecraft as part of the Crew 5 mission, which is scheduled to launch in the fall of 2022 from Cape Canaveral, included NASA astronauts Nicole Mann (commander), Josh Kassada (pilot), Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency astronaut Koichi Wakata (mission specialist -1) and Roscosmos cosmonaut Anna Kikina (mission-2 specialist).

It's planned that today the Russian and ESA spacenauts will have a six hours long EVA session deficated to the ERA arm integration into the Russian segment.

They will mount an additional adaptor for the arm.

Artemyev will wear the Orlan-MKS with red strips, Cristoforetti - Orlan-MKS with blue strips.

Also they will launch ten microsats made by the students of Ryazan and Kursk universities.

Oleg Artemyev and Samantha Cristoforetti have manually launched ten microsats (two Tsiolkovsky-Ryazan and eight YuZGU-55).

Now they are keep doing EVA to transfer the adaptor platform from Poisk to Nauka, and to mount the ERA adaptor on Poisk.

This comment on Ars Technica's article on the story is too good not to quote:

A Eulogy

Goodbye sweet Rogozin! It is hard to imagine your replacement doing a better job of embodying Roscosmos' (and Russia's) level of professionalism, integrity, technical achievement, and future contributions to spaceflight than you did.

While once Roscosmos may have been different, they truly came to reflect your strong character qualities during your (and Putin's) leadership. You helped us all learn the true nature of Russia, and what you are capable of contributing to the rest of the world.

You're not the Roscosmos leader Russia needed, but you were the one they deserved.

The thing I can't recall is when Russia owed a "contribution to the rest of the world", especially to one of numerous near-IT internet magazines (Ars Technica, if I spell the first word right), and how many countries is able to contribute more.

Meanwhile, the EVA session on ISS has been finished.

https://www-interfax-ru.translate.goog/world/853344?_x_tr_sl=auto&_x_tr_tl=en&_x_tr_hl=ru

After the manual microsat launch seeding, Artemyev and Cristoforetti have switched EMMI control panel (for EVA control of ERA) into stand-by mode, and moved the adaptor platform from the BTP-2 passive attachment node on Poisk to the BTP-2 node on Nauka.
Next time this platform will be reattached to the docking module Rassvet.

They didn't have time to set locks on the GStM-1 and GStM-2 booms as it was planned, and to extend GStM-2 from Zarya to Poisk.

This “contribution to the world/humanity” thing in the English speaking world is a mere optional rating of what countries contribute to the global community, not a debt or demand.

Example- Switzerland “contributes to the world” by hosting the LHC, but that’s just a compliment, not a debt Switzerland owes.

The Ars commenter added sarcasm to… do what he did.

To whom?

Can't remember when somebody in this community was doing anything for something but his own profit.

Just because they prefer to drive to Switzerland rather than to Minusinsk.

What's "exit the ISS program" in this context? Stop sending cosmonauts? Split it in two?

The question is kind of open, and I'm also worried that I may have picked the wrong preposition. Since it's Borisov talking to Putin, we didn't exactly get an explainer.
