Clean up on Isle Russian Launch and Mission thread

What's worse is that a meaningful assessment of the Russian economy would have to wait until autumn, when the supply chain disruption really hits the fan.

And a discussion of Russia's military performance some people seem to be itching for would leave the forum smelling like a meat locker after three weeks without power. The sheer amount of alternative facts both sides can clash over would cause a singularity.

Lev Zeleniy, the academic director of Space Research institute (IKI) spoke out against the unauthorized activation of #eROSITA: "Our institute - all the scientists - categorically object to this. This objection is both for political and technical reasons". https://t.co/R1FEe9oFka pic.twitter.com/YtzyLJXjlt

An attempt to hope that things will normalize soon, and the telescope will be switched on nicely and officially. (So, the persons who did that, wouldn't be sanctionized).

Otherwise why be afraid of damaging it when it's anyway a deadweight without working.

ESA officially suspended #ExoMars rover mission

Apparently ESA are going to discuss internally how categorical this impossibility is in two weeks' time.

Can’t tell if it’s the editing or it just breaks apart that soon after deployment. They sure won’t be reusing any tho.

It's editing.

Also, the inscription on the fairing reads "Russia does not abandon its own!". That's an... interesting choice of a phrase to write on a fairing that you throw away.

Don't forget the flags of DNR and LNR travelling into space on what is the equivalent of a candy wrapper. Thrown away as soon as they stop being useful.

At around the 30 minute mark, the guy manages to reconcile the various iterations of the Nuklon/Zevs tug

It's a pity, only in Russian, so most of the forum users won't be affected.

Apparently the old 2016-2025 Federal Space Program included a feasibility study for an "Avangard (Pilot) - MKKK", a spaceplane, funded to the tune of RUB 440 mln. I'm learning that because an IT supplier is getting razzled for supplying the project with non-functional software to the tune of 27 mln.

Have we seen it among the plane mods?

We would if the War Thunder forums had a space warfare section.

Just thought. Somebody was playing modded KSP spaceplane and recognized the project parts between the stock ones.

Or they were using in the project the Sabre engines and an asparagus-like launch booster.

I actually have thought about making a suggestion for space combat on that, as it would be viable considering drones may be around the corner. There aren’t many proposals and they are almost all paper, but tech tree would be about the size of the helicopter ones anyways.

You know you're desperate when you start to resort to asteroid defense operations as the sales pitch for your nuclear tug.

What's more important than moving the asteroid fall GZ from a good place to a bad place?

Say, to move it from Chebarkul to Understone Tunguska.

Yuri Borisov, deputy prime minister for the defense complex, may "retire" into leading Roscosmos. Rogozin's fate isn't even discussed yet

Important to note that this can all be rumormongering ahead of extraordinary sessions of both chambers of Parliament.

Edit: some sources speculate that Rogozin will be sent off to a posting in the, ahem, new territories, but this is pure speculation according to the source voicing it.

Doesn't sound like they are too happy with his performance, then. Receiving a post in an active warzone is hardly a promotion over a cushy administration position of a prestigious state agency. It's almost as if they want to set him up for a fall, to put it like that ...

"Comrade, seeing your success leading the space agency, we are promoting you to a special operator role. Here is your flintlock pistol, your flag, and your fluorescent orange jumpsuit.  Now sprint across the open fields over there and destroy the enemy brigade entrenched there. We will await your glorious return."
